The problem with Catalyst is that they broke the achievements there. In theory, only two were supposed to stop working, but in reality it affected many achievements that don't require online at all, where you have to do tricks or collect things.
I'm generally not bothered with lack of achievements but having two launchers is a big fat no from me. (Mass Effect: Andromeda and Mirror's Edge Catalyst will remain on my wishlist for that very reason.)

Very good purchases, congratulations from the bottom of my heart, I played more than half of them and was delighted (but all of this has been sold cheap for a long time).
Thanks a lot Vic for your recommendations. I crossed a few more games off my Steam wishlist today: Killer 7, Mirror’s Edge, Alice: Madness Returns and Cold, Cold Heart DLC (for Batman Arkham Origins). :)

EA launcher is one of the smallest problems that can exist. Yes, I've heard that some people have some WEIRD problems with it, but in a normal sense it works like this: you launch the game in Steam, EA launcher starts in the background, you just play the game, when you're done you turn it off, and EA launcher just closes itself in the background.
Andromeda just hit an all-time low of -90%, so if that's all you're worried about, I beg you, it's not worth it. Because I got Andromeda for myself... I played the pirated version when it released, and (sorry aesthetes) I liked it, it's a very mediocre game, it really has a lot of bugs and ridiculous flaws, but I launched it to complete the last unfinished side quest that I couldn't complete in the pirated version, and...

Thanks for the info Vic (y), I wasn’t sure how it all works. Now I know. :)

Original Mass Effect games were masterpieces in my opinion. I have some great memories playing them after school back in the early 2010s. My parents were fighting, going trough a divorce but I just didn't care.

I have a few more days to think about it. Most likely I'll try one game with the EA launcher and if it's as bad as some say I'll ask for a refund. :)

For me with my generic gamepad, I need to load the actual launcher from steam for it to detect it...it flukes out on occasion but not enough to really care...and this is mostly for older games. Either way I haven't had any issues since I did it this way instead of loading the actual games like I WAS able to with the old App 🤷‍♂️

Honestly the EA launcher for all its flaws is very lightweight compared to Epic or Ubisoft mucking everything up by logging your entire machine while your playing...especially online

Everyone can always try the classic recommendations for EA games, and if they don't like it, they can get their money back. One problem, after all, no one does that :)

I played the first Carmageddon like crazy back in time! It was so revolutionary and controversial game! I had the Og version after they censored it replacing pedestrians with aliens with "green" blood lol.

Worthy sacrifice, but i'm missing it a little I admit the more games I backlog lol.
