Is it a known bug, that if you remove the malus and then click the close button (instead of Play Anyway), you have the Silver deducted but when you click "Challenge" again your malus is back to the original one before removal?

Got something like RIORFG-NVRZTF-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXX Copypasting the whole key into the steam redeem page says: The product code you've entered is not valid or is not a product code. Please double check to see if you've mistyped your key. Any ideas what it might be for?
