Yes, I know. My doubt was on how to know the game name from an already owned game without the browser (neither the console nor extensions), so asf is the better option.

It seeems you already can. Using the used key from yesterday, you can see it already returns the appId and name of the game. It works for used keys so I guess it will work too for unused ones. Will test when I have one to try.

Appart from steam and steamdb, it can be done as a javascript boormarklet, using any firefox scripting addon and the easier one, asf. As easy as typing redeem <key> or !r <key> and it throws the same result. Knowing I can use asf I won't waste time on the script... Thanks everyone for sharing...

Using steam will need the user id and the api key to check while using the steamdb should not. Will check by the weekend.

Is this doable from the web, without the extension? If yes, it should be possible to make a script to POST/GET the key from the terminal and parse the result.
