Um yeah that was a world of difference, when I logged in previously the farm was pretty much barren, this time it's got grass, trees etc all over the place. Guess it was old save data screwing things up.

I think i must have opened Feudalife previously but not done anything until today when I logged in (with continue game) so It must have had save data from the initial login. I will create a new save (not like I am far in) and see how I go.

No wild grass is spawning on my farm, so i am unable to make a pallett and progress through the 2nd(or 3rd) quest. Any ideas?
