It's higly unlikely that the steam key itself expires. The expiration date on Fanatical just means you have to redeem the key on Fanatical before that date. After that date you can no loger redeem or see the key on the Fanatical website, but if you have the key saved elsewhere you can still use it. Yes, it's possible that unsed keys will be revoked after the Fanatical expiration date, but I think this has never happened before with Fanatical giweaways.

Unrevealed Fanatical key will not be revealed after the expiry date, revelaed key can still be used for at least 12 months, if nothing happen, or even more but Fanatica advise to use them before 13 months pass cause a lot of publisher have that deadend to kill old unused keys (probably to prevent long time reselling of gift codes and so on).
