Some people just REALLY hate to argue...while some people thrive on it.
I enjoy discussing topics I'm interested in, and hearing new perspectives, whether we agree or not. I've found most online arguments end up with people not understanding, ignoring, or arguing against points I never made. When it reaches that level of talking through each other, I don't see any reason in continuing.

Agreed 🤷‍♂️ - Even when we disagree I have no issue having debates with you whatsoever

Online? Are people offline different? XD

(leaving aside language problems)

I'm the first to admit I'd probably want to beat you and pax with a really large tree branch IRL because of the language barrier offline :ROFLMAO: but in general its harder for someone to breeze THROUGH an argument face to face than it is on the internet.

I just did it in truth...because whatever they had to say was irrelevant to the facts of what they already did to make any difference. That kind of argument is just as pointless

Generally, yes. You can at least make yourself more easily understood. You also know who you're talking to, and whether or not they're paying attention.

It's also realtime, while online often has long delays between responses. That's sometimes an advantage, when you have time to say what you want without being interrupted, but the delay can make it easier for misunderstandings to occur.

Primitive language? This is how mothers communicated with their children. Calm down. XD

Yes, you have more time to think about your answer.

I was speaking in general terms. You're still mulling it over in your head?

Yes, I agree with that.
I meant that people on the street are the same as people on the internet, and they don't usually like debates, unless they're about football, basket... or boobs, XD

I think people want similarity, support the same team kind of tribalism. My father's Republican friend group had a Democrat in it and he was excommunicated due to pre-Trump political debates he'd get them into.

My point was I didn't mull it over in the first place

Actially I was thinking of my lawsuit--I'd argued the legal point so much there was no need for further debate. So I just stated how the courts fucked me in my final paper--ignoring the lawyers last argument entirely.

Your father's what? lmao.

The problem with the entire country...we're too busy fighting between ourselves about 'sides' we cant see the real problem.

Trump and Biden was a perfect example of this...the whole argument was a huge joke 🤮 the problen was them...not a debate between sides.
