Forced updates are annoying, but that seems like a passable solution. Disable updates unless you need them. Not closing apps in use would also work.
I remember being annoyed at the constant app updates for things I didn't even use, and my first Android phone didn't have a file browser, so no offline sideloading. I had to get it online through reverse tethering just to install a file explorer. I didn't have WiFi at the time.
Its just samsung and google...well not including windows

all the idiots racing for AI are pretending to know whats best for us even without agreeing to AI.
Google now leaves a second page open when I login to gmail on the web about some shit AI i'll literally never careb about and samsung has been pissing me off from the start...i'll never buy another samsung product for the rest of my unnatural life.
If I win my case, my first purchase is a replacement blackberry wirh out of date android
These days I don't use a smartphone, so I have none of those issues.
I honestly don't know how you deal with this...I'm not so dependent on my phone I'd have a heart attack without it because i'm old school and I know how to function without one in the worst case...but even I feel lost when I dont have it, particularly if I get lost or something--but thats more because I didnt plan ahead like I would have if I wasnt relying on my phone for things like a map and flashlight like I would have back in the day.
I have zero intention of taking it hunting...and my biggest concern is the fact that payphones dont even exist anymore
