My first criminal charge as a minor was for stealing a game gear and going back into the store to steal Sonic because I thought it came with the system and it didn't.

Irony incomong: I brought the system in to get the game so "somebody else didn't steal it" if I left it outside  and got caught with both, which pushed it over the money threshold for an actual charge. I was young 🤷‍♂️ 😅

The point of the story...I never even enjoyed the gamegear because sonic is too damn fast on a small screen to really be enjoyed...so all that, buying the system later on...and I didnt really even like it :ROFLMAO:

Go me 😒
I have many good memories with game gear and sonic. My parents bought me Game Gear for my communion. I was so happy having it because it was my first Sega console and first handheld. When I discovered the GG drain fast 6 AA batteries I had to buy cable charger and play always with it plugged lol. Then I bought a japanese Sonic cartidge and I had lot of fun with. When I bought Sega Mega Drive after I bought all the serie I love it.
It was cool back in time having a japanese Sonic, it was not easy to find in stores and the japanese box was squared and the art was better IMO then Eur version.

Fun fact: I searched those pics on duckduckgo and if you type Sonic in search box the duck icon turns into a Sonic duck :ROFLMAO:

Three games were not available for my region this month: Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Dead Island 2 and Metal Eden. The fact that these games would not be available was known since the announcement, but no one cared, although they promised us that they were doing everything to make the keys global, and now Death Stranding turned out to be a surprise too. This month's storage turned out to be gorgeous, they even allowed me to pick up some crumbs from the floor, wow.

Nov2025:
... .... I remember Sonic for the Megadrive (hypermarket) and then for GameGear that another friend lent me along with Mortal Kombat
I had the GG at home for a month and a half or so, with that game + Sonic, and the TV tuner.
and Yes, always with it plugged, 🤣

Cool, there's Godzilla but no King Kong, there's Mario but not Luigi or Wario it's not fair :ROFLMAO:
Duck Hunt dog neither, XD

I agree, and it does look good that's why I decided to mention it.
It's not even about the looks, I can't call myself a big fan of the series, I haven't played all the games, but on occasion I've played them, and some memories stuck in my head quite strongly.
If Horizon Assault is constantly trying to be interesting: here are planes, here are helicopters, here is a mission with a stationary machine gun, here is an attack, here is a defense, there is always something happening there, even if it is a little outdated visually.
The main series for some reason always looks like a championship among missions, in which the task is to make it as boring as possible, and you have to decide the result: find 20 very slow-moving fuel trucks in a sandstorm with a visibility radius of 1 kilometer in 20 minutes and shoot them down from a fighter plane that flies over the entire location in seconds; score 20,000 points (damage enemy infrastructure) in half an hour, when each hit adds as much as 300 points, yay; defend the entire battlefield from all directions of air and ground attack for 20 minutes, when you can lose from a single missed tank; there is a lot of such content, and every failure means starting all over again, and there will be a lot of failures, because the game is difficult (not because everything is well thought out and the opponent is smart, but because it is very long and very boring, and they give you time very close, you may simply not have time).
Even the presentation of the plot is strikingly different: in Horizon Assault you are always in the center of events, the plots of the main series are very shameful cutscenes where everyone just stands epically while the voice-over tells something boring and has no effect on the plot, then boring briefings arrows on the map that chew the same information three times, which they will then tell you during the mission, and then show in the recording at the end (you can skip) and say it again in the debriefing (you can skip). And so, in every mission, literally in every mission, at the very end, it UNEXPECTEDLY turns out that it's not the end yet and an unexpected threat appears that will be very difficult to defeat, for example, a plane that moves chaotically.
In both cases you have access to really well-made (real) aircraft models, the main series even has a constantly live multiplayer. The only thing is that there are a lot of questions about whether the authors understand how and why this aircraft works, because it is sometimes painful to look at the parameters of the mission.
