I haven't had time to check it out...busy with our game pretty much all the time right now...I will eventually, but our release is later than usual and the bio section still needs alot of renders.

I can't imagine they fucked it up that bad--maybe it still needs some sort of online or its fans of FF7R smashing the classic 🤷‍♂️
From what I can read on reviews, users are complaining about the resolution and lower Fps then previous version. I read there is another feature, you can speed up the game up X3. I think the game just need other patch to make to fix those issues. I also have no time to check the game rn, I was talking just about my experience I had back in time with random encounters.

For me there were too many encounters expecially when you have had to travel on the same map area you already visited. Turning them off it would be like cheating to me, so I wouldn't use that feature. Lol after the update, FF7 has been reviewed bombed, the rate is so bad now.
This is called a bad game, which FF7 has always been. Now they have added the ability to turn off the worst part and finally see all the positive aspects for yourself. This is not cheating, this is common sense.
People are whining mainly because the speed at release was broken regardless of whether the acceleration option was turned off or on, a patch has already been released for this.
Plus there is a fairly large sect of mentally ill people who need the old mods to work on the new version, they also add negativity to the game, instead of waiting a little.

Don't agree here...but I played on console.

If you just want the story...infinite HP helps too lol. I dont like FF7R, I think this version is much better personally....cant speak for the PC port which sounds horrible. They slaughtered ff6 on PC as well multiple times

oh well.
the game looked bad even at the time of release, it was so mindlessly filled with random battles that you couldn't take a step, plus there were a bunch of annoying mini-games. The only good thing about it was the plot with bold twists, but few people saw that, because almost no one actually played the game, everyone believed the texts in magazines that this game was brilliant. Of course, there were about a dozen people who really finished it.

This still doesn't solve the problem that I simply can't get from point a to point b without being distracted 100 times by battles that literally make me forget where and why I'm going. And here I am offered an official option to turn off all this unnecessary content.

Usually I prefer to play the closest version of the game as it was meant to be, but because I completed the game on the first run back in time, I could check that feature. I don't know if it is still possible to play the vanilla version, but I don't think so after the update. Instead of completely turn battle off it would be better if it was possible to change the % of encounters, I would say a 60% could be fine for me.

I've beaten it several times, golden chocobo that smoked joe on auto, knights of the round, multiple master materia of all types...both weapons dead. Of course I also killed weapon on ffxv with no guide so maybe i'm just insane

That one was sarcastic...took the game out of the game in other words.

To each their own man...the battles never bothered me, I was a grind loving hardcore RPG fan who played almost nothing else back then. I cant even say how I feel about it now.
