The series arrived in Spain in 1991 via Italy (where it had premiered in 1986 under the title āGigi La Trottolaā) with modifications to the original script, which was common practice at the time. According to the translator: <<The footage was in Japanese and the script was in Osaka English. Some episodes arrived in Italian, and thatās when I realised that, in Italy, they hadnāt translated it: theyād reinvented it.>>
