What about completely removing completed giveaway check?

On the old site, there used to be a button where you could check all completed giveaways.
It appears on the new site, that button no longer appears.
It doesn't seem to be due to ad-blocking or anything like that, so I was wondering if other people have the same issue?

I've been trying to check the giveaways, but it seems that if I keep clicking on each individual entry to check, it'll eventually time me out and block me from checking further for a few minutes before I can resume.

There was a "check all" button up until today. Something was changed last night. Probably because the "checked giveaways" sum after using it always read 0. It'll likely be back as soon as they get that figured out.

Been having this issue since a few days ago. Have to try over and over again before i can enter or check completed giveaways.
Any news on when this might get a fix?

Pretty sure it's an anti-bot measure, and it's been around for quite awhile now. If you try to perform more than 10 actions within a time period (say, 30 seconds) it gives you the error notification and puts you in cooldown mode for a few minutes. Refreshing the page used to fix the cooldown wait.

I agree with praXimo, the button was broken so has been removed until fixed. I am sure it will be back soon, in a functional state. The Check All Entries button always returned zero even if you had won (check your completed giveaways "Won" tab to see if you really did win). I had two wins that did not show up after pressing the Check All Entries button, but there they were in the Entries Won section.
Unfortunately, for now, you will have to check each entry individually, which is time consuming, especially as you always get the "Error, try again in a few minutes." issue after several checks.

Probably the same as praXimo said either J.G. mentioned, yesterday have that button "Check all giveaways" but it resulted in 0 Checks and 0 Wins, but happened to see a new win in "Completed Giveaways Won". So thinking that they removed for now to prevent confusion to people that they have won but it doesn't appears.
Even thought that "Error, try again in a few minutes" is really annoying that you may think suddenly you got disqualified to check your ticket if won or not.

Btw is there no more comment section on the feedback when you win a game? It just show me a "-" thing.

Yeah I have this problem as well, it didnt used to happen before the new site. Now it seems to get stuck all the time. I also won a giveaway and it never showed up in my won section.

The "Check all" giveaways button is broken so I checked manually one by one, and I noticed I won a giveaway but when I check the "Won" section it was not there.

I don't know if I won anything else that never showed up since I only started checking manually today.

Has anyone else won a giveaway but the key didn't show up in the "Won" section since the new site started?

Hi.

Thank you for your feedback.

We disabled the "check all" button to avoid abuses and bots.
( they were damaging the whole experience to all good users introducing latency )
You should not se any check all button on your profile.
There was also a glitch in the "check all procedure" that uncorrectly displayed "Won:0" even when you won one.

The individual button, instead should work as expected. We had severe blocking rules in our firewall to block a certain rate of post requests but now we loosened it and you should have no further issues checking it.
We just checked few dozens right now.
Best.

Hi RiciRick,

Have you considered retiring the need to Check if you won! entirely? Simply removing the Completed to check section altogether and presenting the won keys straight in Completed won?
This would remove any related user generated traffic and greatly reduce the strain on your servers.
Plus it would save the users a lot of time and disappointment revealing all those giveaways they didn't win;)

That's interesting,
let's see in this thread if more users would like it to work this way.....!

You could run a daily or weekly server-side check to determine what prizes people have won and email the winners. That'd remove the need for checking all together.

Yeah, definitely. Checking giveaways for a possible win is completely pointless. If you win a giveaway it should just go into the "won" list and winner get a notification on the site and/or email.

Weekly is a definitely bad idea since you only get three days to leave feedback and then it automatically sets to positive, so if people relied on a weekly email they'd risk not being able to leave proper feedback in case of a bad key. Any notification system should be immediate (or as "immediate" as possible).

Once again this got longer than I'd like but maybe detail is needed here.

point 1: scammers
If the "check all" button is going away for good then it would 100% make more sense to get rid of having to check if you won in the first place.

Besides just being annoying having to click to check each giveaway one by one, the current system also gives a huge advantage to people who give fake keys, alpha/beta keys which don't let you keep the game, or other scammy things.

Why? Because many people are far less often going to be checking their entered giveaways to see if they won. I used to quickly check them every day myself when there was a "check all" button. Now I usually don't. By the time I do check them now, many are probably too late to leave any feedback if I had won. I'm certain I'm far from alone in that.

Most people who found out the key didn't work or something else is wrong after it was too late to leave feedback are not going to bother to send an email to support about it. Which would be the only option available to get the automatic "positive" feedback changed into a negative.

And that is a gigantic advantage to people being dishonest in giveaways. They are going to be getting so many more automatic positive feedbacks by default because many people who used to check their wins in time are not going to be doing so anymore.

In all honesty, I think that without there being a "check all" button, and with positive feedback happening automatically by a certain time even when giveaways have not been checked by the winner, it is almost logically required that the need to check giveaways in the first place be removed.

I mean, making it tedious to find out if you've even won a game (which the current system kind of is without a "check all" option) is just stacked so hard in the favor of scam giveaways getting an automatic default positive.

point 2: checking one by one is a chore, plus automatic notification of a win would be a refreshingly nice change
A couple other notes. As a long time user, the idea of getting notified automatically in some way when you've won (maybe the next time you visit IG a message pops up? Or maybe through some icon on the top, like the mail or notification icons, but a new icon for won giveaways?) sounds so nice, tbh.

After clicking to check one by one lately, that system is just... repellent. It genuinely makes me feel less excited to come here to see if I won anything or not.

Maybe think about like this. Imagine that some gives you a present. Sounds nice, right?

Now imagine that you don't unwrap the present to get what's inside. Nope. Instead, you have to open twenty boxes or more, one by one, every day. All you have to do is take off the cover to check what's inside, but most of them are empty. Most days all of them are empty. But if you want to get a present you have to open each box, individually, every single box, how ever many days it takes, until eventually, one day, one of them turns out to have an actual present inside.
Did that last paragraph in any way sound fun? Or did it sound very, very dumb and unfun? But that's exactly what the current system, without a "check all" button, feels like.

Sure, it's going to take a little time to enter giveaways every day. On the other hand, it should take no time to find out if you won them.

I think a good compromise would be removing the check for wins, but also extending the feedback filing time (to prevent automatic positive feedback abuse). Based on what I'm reading, I think that's a good compromise for both issues. Maybe a 2 week timeframe? I think that should be plenty of time.
