Unfortunately, after finding this out on my own end it appears that you cannot play these games without a little work.

as I have found, you must place all the files in their corresponding folders for the game to work,
the files themselves tell you where they must go, and what the folders must be named. IE: the bottom most file needs to go in colortone_Data > Mono > etc > mono > mconfig
then after you place every single file in its corresponding spot (or before doing so you do you.) you must go through every file and remove everything before the last bullet point on every single file.

so i do say good luck to you sir.

this fixes other similar situation games as well.
