Some people prefer it to expire on its own to better plan for malus reduction. A positive review is given when the winner wants to do it, and so for example if owner already have a positive review on that day, so the reductions don't add up and the positive review just burns out. But with a strict expiration date you have a (sort of) clearer understanding of when it will begin to act. With is, by making one giveaway every day, you end up with a permanent bonus every day. I can’t say in terms of the timing, i’m absolutely sure is given after three days, but I never checked it starts right away after 72 hours or there is some more time, because I’m not a supporter of this option, although I have nothing against it
