I won a false key, with a link for steam game but without key of the activation. How should I proceed?

The only recourse you have is to give negative feedback. If the game was not Indiegala guaranteed then Indiegala is under no commitment to give you a key. If the user that created the giveaway gets enough negative feedback he will be banned from creating more fake giveaways.

First check this user IndieGala profile, if he has lots of negative feedbacks, he is probably doing false giveaways and deserves the thumbs down, if the user profile look good you can try to contact the user, if you are lucky you will find the user steam profile and try to contact with him/her there.

You should definitely check if his profile looks good and has a steam. If he's a decent steam user, he'll probably appreciate you adding and contacting him on steam to negotiate something if something went wrong with the key. Then you can decide whether to vote him down or not( but don't take too long). There is no PM system here so it's hard to make contact on either side.

I don't know how it could be possible to create a giveaway without a key?
Maybe a bug ?!
I can assure you that to my knowledge a good&unused key was used.
Befriend me on steam and I can try to give you the key or another one as compensation.

ok, it seems that I'm now befriended with Folinger Trepson, but I have not managed to contact him.
The different timezones makes it difficult.
I still don't know what went wrong, but I checked the giveaway form and it seems it is both possible:
that I pasted the url instead of the key or
that I left the key field empty.

This bothers me far more than it should.

I did assume that sooner or later I would get a downvote because:

some keys were region locked (sadly I don't know which and which region)
dlc (who wants a soundtrack thats unredeemable without the game)
keys that I can't check for validity (I'm naive)
the game don't run on their system
the game is ****
plp are tooooo excited, pressing the wrong button
trolls
and other things that go wrong.

BUT in this case I think that the form check is sub par!

Both Kalimha and SnowyDrift are right:
if you run into the same problem as Folinger Trepson, check the profile of the offerer.

Now thats my next problem.
If you check my profile it will look like (at moment and I may misscounted!)

less than 35% upvotes! looks not decent.

but actually it is:
guaranteed giveaways 71
other giveaways 46, upvotes 44, downvotes 1, novote 1
(by the way the novote was a dlc)

Some people will create fake giveaways trying to build up rep or for advertising purposes. And some people are just Idiots laughing at you and everyone that enters their giveaways. Now that is not saying that the giveaway was false what did the link do or lead to. Some morons will giveaway a game that is already free and give you a link to where you can get it yourself. But sometimes people will create a link instead of a code (key) So a link might be valid. If it is false the only recourse is to give them the "thumbs down" after a few of them their account is looked at and banned. This keeps everyone on the up and up but unfortunately someone can not be forced to give you a game.

After thinking about it I must admit:
Links are a valid option for the key field,
but I still consider an empty key field as an bug!

I wish there was a final check form before giving away.
Like: this is the game, this is the key, this is the termination of the ga, are you sure?

Btw, since the key field can be anything, I hope that giving away 3 keys at once will not end in a desaster.

You mean - 3 keys "for the price of one"? In one giveaway?
Thing is - IG giveaways are programmed to pick only one winner. Unlike SG and SC you can't make one giveaway with multiple copies of the game for several winners. So if you do that - one person will get all 3 keys at ones. Not sure though how it will look on the receiving end and so if winner will realise that there are more than 1 key...
So far I don't think anybody did anything like that.

my wording in the forum is missleading, much worse is the wording in the ga is more missleading

I gave away a game with 2 belonging dlc at once (3 keys), because giving away the the dlc on its own is kind of useless to the winner of the ga (if they don't own the game).

I choose the the package which represent those 3 keys, but the package would be only 1 key.
There is no advantage for me doing it this way, only for the winner of this ga!

I did not ga 3 times the same game or key!

oh, I get it.
So you chose link for one "bundle" (game + DLCs) for GA but you have 3 separate keys there - one for the game and 2 for DLCs. Right?
I don't know what exactly you wrote in the "say something" part of your GA, but in any case - you can add comment in the comment section if it's still running. There's no guarantee that whoever win it would read that comment but it's better than nothing.

This happend to me I won a game and put in the key and it was already used all I could do was give him negiative feedback. When I looked at his or her profile it was the only game a that person gave away.

Hello S1M0N, in this case I made the error to paste url twice.
I tried to make a valid giveaway but lost at the ui.
I gave more than 1 game away and was expecting bad feedback,
I didn't expect that the ui was promoting erroneous input.
