It didn't have an Auction like this but it did allow to buy Gold that allow you trade it in for Coal coins kind of like with the trading in your Gold to Silver coins here.
Or you could have use the Gold coins to enter into a Gold Coin only Giveaway which was usellay high prices AAA game.
But need to say they got kill off last years do the number of thing like region locked game and dumb newer user ref link just get one Gold coin all over Steam forums and every else to piont that Steam end up banned them and top it all off with russian currency that was happing around the some time that made game there super cheap that final sealed the deal with Steam really drop the hammer with 3rdparty store making all key region locked over there.

No idea you just have wait and see what happing my guest is that can go high
You add on of first bid
Let say you spend 240
You another 200 or 240 or ever the silver coins one can have have
You apply where amount you need on top your first bid at lease that what I think that my happing but I don't know for sure.

It work like this retrobunny2005 if you buy $10 bag of 100 gold coins you then take that bag 100 gold coins and turn them in to 1,000 silver coins for you to use on that auction, do get it now ?, you can also use them to enter into giveaway as well and if I'm read this rigth it states even gameplay bundle I'm guest that something new we haven't seen as rigth now or I haven't found it.

Well, not entirely useless - as shspvr said earlier... I actually used it a couple of times for giveaways (didn't win those, but whatever)
