is this the right gems?
Betrayer is still in Steam store, so you can sell that cards for money, not for gems, it is much easier to use - you know how much you have in your wallet and can spend later for games directly. Sell for gems only non-marketable cards, as for me. But if you need gems so yes, it is them.

False. Betrayer cards are not marketable. The game got delisted (not banned) but the cards got flagged. Probably the developers' decision. There are still plenty of keys around for the game and the cards still drop so at first sight getting 450 gems for 3 Betrayer cards seems like a great deal. I have 3 sitting in my inventory myself and would gladly sell them for that much.

Oh, I see. I clicked on the game page, but not scrolled down enough to see that there was no Buy button on it.
Seems it is time to install it, got cards and trade them.

About cards, there is a lot of people here having won the same games with cards, games that they don't really care about for the most part. We should try to pair up with each other and trade cards from a game for cards for another game to complete series and craft badges easily. What do you think ? I still haven't got a clue why i got caught in this leveling up and cards business, but it could be useful at some point (one of my use was to extend the number of friends slots so i could add other people for trades).

Count me in, even if I have only a vague idea what it is all about with the cards, the gems, the badges and so on! :)
(and levels, and ... -> someone should make a map someday how it all hangs together)
how it all hangs together on Steam, first try ...
Btw if you only need 2 people for this idea, another Steam-account for yourself (cost 5 euro I understand) would be a little bit safer and easier.

It's still safe with people you don't even know, because you trade cards by doing an offer : cards in someone's inventory for cards in your inventory, and everything is Steam-managed. Everyone gets the other guy's cards at the same time. There is even a period where you can't use your cards just in case there is something even with the security.
If there is enough people interested, we could make a new topic about it, and list the games we'd like to make a badge for, and the ones we don't care about, and then let's go for the trades.

As for the interest of all that, mostly trading i'd say, people simply sell their cards and buy games, other use the whole panel of crypto-money that it in fact is : cards, gems, then CSGO or TF2 keys, etc... And if you don't trade, it just has the purpose of adding stuff to your account : background images, smileys, etc... Not very useful in the end, but nice.

Ok! Are all badges equal worth?
(Btw we now got cards, gems, badges, levels, smileys, background images, CSGO, TF2 keys. o_O This map is quickly expanding.)

I don't care about card collection, I just keep some I like the picture, then I sell all other cards I have. The earning is very few but with if you have a large amount of games and patience you can buy a couple of games selling those cards. Cards are used to have more value in the past, the best time to sell those is during steam sales.

for me badges and other stuffs like backgrounds are just here to show your dedication to be a good steam customer
if you're a curator, or a streamer it makes sense to have many badges and some nice background and avatar, but for the average user, i don't think so

I sell cards for games that I'm not very interested in and collect for games that I like. My level is 34 now and I'm not a multiplayer player, so I don't have to level up my profile any further, so collecting cards is just fun as in my childhood with Panini stickers. For example: I sold cards in most of my gameplay giveaway wons, and then bought Black Mesa, and I definitely collect these cards. But if I can exchange cards and help someone craft an badge / level up - why not? I can still sell the cards that I got during the exchange :)

Yeah, panini stickers where great! I used to collect when I was a little kid in school. Cool there was recently a big discount of Black Mesa! I even collect cards during event sales, steam drops daily cards doing some action, I sell them all too.
Great! Can you provide a link? :)
(Btw we now also got panini stickers on the map. Will it never end?)
