If your hearing clunk clunk and you didn't before, 99% chance its the drive OR the connection to the drive, a loose sata/power connection can cause that as well. You want to check those first BEFORE you keep trying to load windows from the drive, external media is fine though.

A repair disc/usb stick or windows install disc might get you in long enough to easily backup or clone your drive if it can't repair it, but I would check the connectors first since that can actually cause damage if they're not in right.

As long as you have an external drive big enough you can literally copy your entire windows installation as a direct copy (to an HDD, not to an SSD) and even the Windows will stay genuine (I can also get you your windows product code if that fails) as long as you can get into recovery mode at least.

First tip, don't wear anything that attracts static and always touch REAL metal first if you can't get your hands on a static wristband, wear sneakers and stay off carpet...never keep the battery in or have the power cord in (thats an obvious, most ppl forget the battery though heh)

As long as you don't static zap it, its unlikely you can damage anything EXCEPT the drive, and thats a matter of just not bending the piece attached to the sata/power cables (cheap as shit), but still simple
The hd noise is really low I can barely notice (I have to put my ear on the keyboard to notice it), my lap is always pretty silent except when fans are on while gaming,
My pc today when I tried to boot it went into recovery mode and It tried to recovery windows files but it failed. Now when I boot it I have the Acer logo with loading circle for some minutes then the screen goes black but pc still on.
I think it should be hard disc corruption. A week ago when I booted windows did automatically a windows installation fix because there were some files corrupted, then it booted but Win is very slow and very unstable, it takes forever loading things or the system blocks.
Thanks for the tips I saw in some tutorial that it is important to disconnect even the internal battery before doing any operation.

ya, didn't think of that part...sorry 😔

NOPE!!! Negative!!! You traitor!!!

...oh alright.

Setzer and be warned - really massive half game spoiler incoming...bunch of tips, but major story breakers included.

On a death note, when you reach the floating continent, refuse to jjump at the end till the clock hits 3 seconds and Shadow will also live...only other character that can die is Mog and you literally have to Sacrifice him to the Gods of the Gold Hairpin (you'll understand later :ROFLMAO:)

Setzer (the gambler) lives, and he's one of (if not the) best character end game, because of a weapon called "Fixed Dice" which rolls straight 9999 almost constantly.

Add a Genji Glove (dual weild), Offering (attack 4 times), a Gradeus or preferably Ultima (Atma?) Weapon (stolen from guess who...Ultima Weapon on the floating continent ) as his second weapon

Using the ONLY speed+1 Esper in the game (Raiden or Odin, I forget) till he's level 99, maybe with some str+3 mixed in (or stamina/HP for Ultima Weapon) before exchanging the Esper for another, same with Locke to Steal these things lmao.

You can also make Gau, Shadow, Mog, or any sword weilder (with more effort, Terra, Celes, Edgar, Locke) Invincible on the original version with a Paladin shield gained by fighting 255 battles wearing the Cursed Shield (using a ribbon if your sane lol), a must do task regardless. A force sheild works as well.

Heres a quick guide, although my setup was different this has more options that may help in newer versions that fix the glitch.

NOTE:

You can get your first Genji Glove by refusing Banons request 3 times before accepting in the returners hideout...also if you leave the first cave Locke goes through (to reach Figaro) full of treasure in the part where your party splits after the airship crash--the cave will have MUCH better treasure after the halfway point in the game.

Taken from gamefaqs (I didn't remember the location because I clear everything) every time.

"Offering. When equipped, it allows your character to attack 4x. It's indeed found in the Ancient Castle after beating the Katana Soul from the monster-in-a-box"

Phew, well theres 30yrs of FF 6 tips in a really long spoiler block.

P.S.

You still suck, no excuse not to finish FF6

FFS, he can't die bro and your can't avoid it (there are still many more spoilers above)

Your problem with death is a serious game-fuck (mind-fuck too), its a fucking game dude!!!

Your story (and your mourning), were an utter waste, you dropped the game over a story plot and it was a deception :ROFLMAO: he a fucking gambler for christ sake, think he didn't have a trick up his sleeve 🤦‍♂️
When i played Deus ex first one, i also got Paul dead body in underground unatco lab, and even continued to the next level. But next day i read that its possible to save him, and even seen screenshots of him alive in the lab. I tried to start from saves before hell kitchen, but all were overwritten and i started from scratch and saved that douchebag😁, who dies of his stupidity imho🤣. No grieving though)))

Nice raffle! Thanks a lot for chance. Outcast is my first Jedi running, swinging sword game, loved it instantly, classic, recommend it to everyone. Jedi academy is a nice upgrade.

This I don't remember (again, only one i've never played)
For real? o0 You haven't played FF2 or the GBA remakes (Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls)??
You should, it's awesome, and it uses the engine from the SNES FF's))
You can create a paypal free, then I'll give someone a game to send you a buck. Then you'll have A FUCKING DOLLAR!!! 🎉 🥳 🎆
Yay and shit!
 Well, that sounds like a plan, I guess, even though I don't get it in all the details)
Also, I was thinking that you can create PP account but can not add your credit card there for free.
I got you dude...I know the feeling of being piss poor all too well, even now.
🤗
P.S. The Last Remnant is the last game you want from Square-Enix lol.

Who wants a -45% discount for this game on GOG?
overhyped and buggy in my eyes

game just repeating itself and its not like anything from preview videos

soon they have to make much bigger sale for that or they cant sell

The Last Remnant is the last game you want from Square-Enix lol.
I don't wanna sound dumb.
Is that good or bad?
I am gonna be honest. I would have bought it. lol. Though it's removed now from steam.

And the reason is kinda dumb. It's a square enix game that has regional pricing. I am definitely not crazy about regional pricing
This game's base price was 5.49$.
The other noticeable game of Square enix that has regional pricing is the critically acclaimed Marvel's Avengers 😒.

Do NOT listen to youtube EVER :ROFLMAO:

You don't need to disconnect the internal battery for a simple HDD or memory swap, thats only if your going near the motherboard by removing the screen and top cover...believe me when I say you DO NOT want to attempt this unless you ABSOLUTELY need too, your more likely to do damage attempting that than prevent it.

I'm assuming I have a PM from you, but I wanted this to be public for anyone who might have followed the convo now or later.

I bought it without asking...that was the dumb part
Is that good or bad?
If above didn't clarify. Bad.

Game deletes your saves (local only), has auto battle in a unique but still terrible way...its not even much on story, walk around and press a button during "timed" battle moments and a few strategic choices, for...ever.

Game is a fucking utter disgrace.
This game's base price was 5.49$.
I payed $4.99 and even as one of my first two games, it was bleh...I tried to play through it till my saves got wiped, then it got wiped and I think I even hid it from my library ages ago...just don't.

This reminds me of a real bastard move since I brought up Suikoden, you can actually save Pahn by beating him in a strategy one-on-one battle and it revives your other dead character gremio when you do and collect ALL characters.

He is utterly over-leveled and you can't get hit (by making a choice based on what he says--rock, paper, scissors lol), but he CAN be defeated and needs to be for the good ending.

It took me forever to figure it out because it does not seem like it should be even remotely possible to do.

I'm bit less present on the forum, I was busy those days plus my main laptop is having big problems, can't boot Win from there atm. I need to find some spare time to fix it. I think it should be the hard drive that started to have some error sectors and now it I guess it is corrupted even the Windows installation. I was thinking to replace the hdd with ssd and adding more ram so I can have a little upgrade of my lappy, but because I never changed any part inside laptop I should be very careful. I hope I can backup something from my laptop. Previous days when windows booted it was veeeeery slow and each simple action like opening a file took ages. There is a folder if I try to open it my pc freezes so I think this is the proof my hd is gone. But I want to try to recover something from it with some live distro.
My laptop has 8 gb, (4gb soldered + 4gb), I should upgrade to 20gb, I leave 4gb and ad 16gb more. The 4gb soldered ram is 2133 mhz so I have to find 16gb with 2133 mhz or do you think if it is a little bit more like 2400 or more will be ok? Maybe @WhatNitrous knows it.
The ssd for laptop should be, the m.2 type so I will go with 500 or 1tb.
Now I'm writing from my second older laptop, I hope I will fix soon my main lappy.
RAM will default to the slowest stick.
What do you need 20Gb for? Virtual Machine? Rendering? Only the first 8gb will be Dual Channel, Rest will still be Single Channel.
There are many types of M2: mSATA, NVME with different lengths, single sided, double sided, with heatsinks etc.
