On steam? Because Java isn't steam (just for the record lol)...I read on some steam community erm documentary of a biography that was filmed by a philosopher (E.G. community forums) that it wasn't ported true to the classic.

Of course, they could have been talking about the japanese atari classic (that never existed but did in an alternate reality where Sega was better than Nintendo and yet didn't really exist at all ) for all I know since I didn't bother reading their irrelevant slander anyways

Just caught this and realized what you meant, you meant they deported a ported mega-drive game that never existed in any alternate reality from a sega game that did and then ported that back?

I'm fucking confusing myself now lmao...so in other words they made a shitty port of another version and then made that the steam game like the GBA BS with FF VI that didn't even match the GBA? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKING FUCK!!!

First and foremost (as far as I'm concerned) SEGA released Shining Force for Sega Mega Drive.
Then they released some kind of remake for GBA (it's pretty much still 16-bit, but it have some additional chapters in the storyline).
Aside from those two there was always those things like SEGA AGES i.e. the compilation of the best/most famous Mega Drive/Genesis games for other platforms like PS2 etc.
And then we have ports of those games (originals and/or versions from those compilations) at Steam.
So nothing really wrong with that, alas yeah, it'd be better if they ported not only the remake instead of the original but all the other games in the series, that were exclusives for like Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear/Master System etc.
