I actually 'technically' bought my first gaming rig from an arcade that was closing down, if you consider a gaming rig a high end dell with colored lights lmao. My Ex ended up dropping it down a flight of steps during moving before I ever bothered to even turn it on and the one good part (the GPU) broke, so I chop shopped it into my current machine for what it was worth.
We also have thrift store type shops (or pawn shop style) that just buy, sell, and trade new/used video game consoles still, where they have magic/yugioh (murdered the name) type card competitions and shit, sometimes even consoles setup.
One of my last good memories was at a place that was basically a bar/coffee shop/PC gaming room with all GeForce 30 series GPUs in a ton of rigs dead center, a karaoke near the bar and a bunch of crazy cosplayers all dress up doing limbo drunk
When I left there we hit another bar that actually stocked old arcade machine like MvC all the way back to DK and Mario an shit, unfortunately the controls on them were just as old
But they made a hella good fucking cheap mix drink so you didn't care after like half an hour...and this is when drinking is a plus
I thought this was a GA, sorry bout the stupidity quote
eh-hem...I'm NOT a virgin.
I said "vergin", virgin you spelled right
I know, but...that one wasn't funny
Sorry dude.
