Good for you. I've played some earlier SMT titles but haven't completed any of those. Also have read MANY info about the Persona series and even watched some anime adaptation of those (P3, if I remember correctly, where they were "shooting" in their heads to activate the abilities)^^

Been awhile since i thought about that...evoker guns. Best idea in the series...games first cut scene is one of the fucking best in the entire series.

Yes, it was P3, which I believe was just released as a PSP port remaster or something and is pretty cheap on sale, great fucking game.

Digital Devil Saga was one of my all time favorites for multiple reasons, ironically I didn't like the Devil Summoner series too much.

The Devil saga had almost a matrix style story too it, some of the best spells and better stories in the series IMO, although its not a popular one...and it was fucking hard.

I never did finish the Tensai that got remastered (five?) , although I was right near the end where you could 'get' Dante as a party member if you basically got the true ending path and some other side shit...that game (the original) was like walking through a game of tetris, practically everything was one color, you couldn't tell which direction you went if you turned around.

I followed a guide the entire game to get Dante and never did, I was in the dungeon you found him with everything in place and left the game for too long that I couldn't remember where the guide left me...and it was just impossible to get the last steps needed for him so I bailed on it.

Game was actually terrible except for Dante (yes from DMC), now he comes as fucking DLC you can use from the start

I'm waiting patiently for the Persona games to drop in price on Steam as I go through my backlog! They really interest me. I like jrpgs and people have a high opinion of the Persona series.

If you want to dip your feet in, get Persona 4 Golden, its the absolute best (with alternatives to repeatedly trying to get the perfect monsters like the older ones), and its usually on sale for like $8-$10.

Its unique to itself, but repetative among the entire franchise (spell names, monsters/persona, etc), so play any of them and you'll know if its for you.

I actually don't suggest starting from 5 or 5 strikers, they are different than the entire series gameplay wise.

They are "usually" self-contained, but like Final Fantasy they throw tribute to past games with minor references and such about old MCs or story bits, nothing that will ruin either game if you play them out of order, I assume thats what your asking.

I started in the wrong order myself, P3 and Digital Devil Saga got me into the series mainly, then I played alot of the entire series like shin-mega tensai and devil summoner and went to P4 I believe after P2 heh.

So the order won't matter much, the others like Digital Devil Saga sometimes continue in story but still make it playable in any order.

If you decide to play the others after, you'll catch the references if your paying attention, but its the least connected of all the games in the series as far as plot or characters, except one or two thats like Cid in FF, just always there
