Bandai? JP pubs have had big restrictions historically. Home and parts of asia have their own lock for most of the catalog, possibly due to censorship changes that only overseas suffers, then there's unclear cutouts like india from one piece and some dbz (licensing?) among other IPs, sometimes it's included languages (packages that don't ship with english), and of course there's the intent to curtail cheaper purchases than home country, to provide parity with e-shops on consoles and home retailers.

Recently humble has really gotten aggressive with region locks to the point that some games in choice don't have any region free key. Traditionally ROW would be given for "NA" purchases, but that seems to be getting rarer, hero's hour was one and more recently shotgun king has no rest of world key per se, making gifting frustrating and (likely the intented purpose) reselling a major headache. If you use humble be very sure to check your store region to match or you may be getting keys you can't redeem in the near future.

Interestingly fanatical doesn't do locks this strict. Hero's hour from there in a killer bundle had no region restrictions... go figure... making fanatical look better and better as a go-to store to support. Of course, there's IG here too, which thankfully is very clear about what you're getting when you purchase.

The killer 25 bundle was pretty locked down IIRC, the bundle would have been a great deal if it didn't have all those. I looked at it multiple times but even trying to GA the rest from there would have been tricky...although I agree the region locks are not as bad, haven't had many troubles giving away other keys.

You could just you know....not upgrade each generation, my Intel is almost 7yrs old and still kicking strong enough not to fail me on any game...barely even a lag on ultra max 4K or VR.
