Although RPGs have been in hyper-production in recent years, there are only a handful of great cRPGS worth 100 or more hours of my gameplay so when I see something from Obsidian or Owlcat, I know I'll definitely enjoy it.

In other news, I like Baldur's Gate 3 so far. The very first Larian title ever that I enjoyed.

I sadly used to be able to say the same thing about square enix (numerous), xseed (Trails Of), Falcom (YS), Bandai (Tales Of)...ironically I've found myself liking remasters like DQ XI and the YS series most...particularly Lacrimosa Of Dana, even with its failed as all hell release by NISA, the game itself is a fucking gem among the specks of dried up sand...even Monstum Nox, which I personally don't find as good is still one of my highest recent playtime along with Tales Of Arise.

The combat in Arise got complicated in a shitty way further into the game even if the story held up, it became a fucking chore instead of a pleasure, where YS stayed true at least and will likely be the first (if not only) of the recent games I finish...I get the same bleh feeling when I play the new Star Ocean and think of The Last Hope or even the Second Story compared to a new active combat system that I think they did terribly and it just puts me on pause almost instantly as much as I know the story will be iconic, I don't want my battles to be a constant aggrivation instead of enjoyment. The Last Hope was like the Last AC game (being syndicate ), they had it perfect and had to go fucking destroy my love for life and gaming by trying to "modernize it" (picture an old man with a look of disgust making a grinch voice saying this ) instead of just keeping it turn based...its now a fucking action game, if I waated to play Kingdoms Of Amaluer or Monster Hunter world, I would. Thats not why I bought classic RPG titles.

Thats where Octopath II got me and no other game has...I see an almost FF VI battle system with some kick ass mechanics I can likely break the game with later if not right from the start...may be why* I returned part one, I got stuck in town before I had a chance to battle and it was boring...they even made that better and let me knock out civvies and soldier to get to loot

Maybe AWA will give away Octopath Traveller 2. You never know.
