Its from sega but developed by tri-ace (star ocean), and a hidden gem among RPG games.

Unique to the point there is really no way to describe it, its more gun building and strategy than actual RPG.

The first time I saw this, it made me think it's a game you have to play to understand how it works and its combat

It definitely has a small learning curve, more designing the guns and how you use the map to your advantage...but once you get the hang of it you can become quite godly using it to your advantage.

I missed those entirely...wasnt too keen on sparklite myself (IIRC it was KB only--could be mistaken), never played Vanaris Tactics

Haven't tried either...assuming you mean space wave race. cant find a wave race on steam.

N64 was one of the few systems I never owned, had a Playstation that era myself...kids ended up with the N64 after that since I was on my own by then (your not old alone), although I have a gamecube I mostly used it for GBA as fucked as that is lmao.
