It has a demo, thought it was just a demo page.

I have one GOG key left for BioShock 2 Remastered. Anyone who is interested can send me a message. I wanted to use the key for the giveaway section, but due to its short availability (the key will expire on April 12), I decided to give it away in this thread instead.
You should not use it in the giveaway section, because it is not a Steam key.
It is against the rules and you risk getting (a) negative reaction(s).

Literally every second or third giveaway on this site is a GOG key. I know that the giveaways are intended for Steam keys, but somehow the owners of this site tolerate GOG keys, so in that regard, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most of my giveaways are GOG keys, and I have been creating giveaways for quite some time now without encountering any problems because of it. I have never been warned by an admin or moderator, and if someone feels disturbed or offended by something so trivial, then that's their issue. With the exception of a very small number of negative reviews, my profile has an overwhelmingly positive like/dislike ratio. This means there are quite a few people who do not feel bothered by GOG keys. I am not so picky in this regard. There are far more important things than worrying about whether the key is from GOG or Steam.

In the end, it doesn't matter whether I play Game A on Steam or GOG; ultimately, the gaming experience remains the same regardless of the game launcher. As long as the owners of this site do not clearly state, "From now on, all GOG keys are prohibited; anyone who continues to offer them risks a ban," every second or third key on this site will continue to be a GOG key. The best solution would be to create a separate section for "Non-Steam Keys." I have already suggested this idea in one of my older posts and also sent an email with my proposal to the IndieGala support team. That would be the best solution, and I believe it could be easily implemented.

And every person with this mentality, makes it so the giveaway section is flooded with more GOG keys, personally I dont enter them or list them...since I have prime and thats where most come from I'm aware enough to skip them...but for every gog key giver its one less reason to bother doing them at all, which will eventually make it so the only steam keys are from IG themselves and new users...GOG keys are much easier and cheaper to get because of Amazon so nobody will bother doing them with Steam keys when they realize they can use the cheaper variant...and you may be okay with getting them, but most users like myself skip then entirely and if the giveaway section ends up bringing them no customers which is its sole purpose for existing...they'll be faster to shut it down than to fix it or regulate it.

Long term your not doing the users or yourself any favors, since the GOG keys will almost always be Amazon and if you have them to give you already have them to play or dont want them. Its not about the launcher, its about the variety and the users it brings to the main page.

Do what you will, I dont have time to care...but just my 2 cents of where it'll end up heading.

EDIT:

Your under the horrible misconception that the giveaways are here for us regular users--they're not. And the site is from the stone age, they are not adding new features and will simply remove ones that no longer benefit their business...they could care less about this area of the site anymore, discord has replaced it in their eyes.

Bottom line the more we discourage new users that bring them business...the more expendable this entire userbase becomes.

On a side note it was the giveaway area that first got my attention here...before I became part of the sub-forum structure lmao.

Building all those levels wont do you much good if they kill the entire area because it becames a pool of abuse.

Its a good business attraction...but thats a really good way to kill it on them...and us.

Why do you think the challenges got cheesed down? Abuse. Long term abuse.

They're not really killing it, it's killing itself. Now that there is mostly GOG games, playtest keys, and ridiculous amateur games at 200$, not much people put any real game in it, so even the abusers get out, after having upped hundreds of account with 200$ games.

And this was entirely my point, I didnt mean to say any single user was killing it alone...but like everything in life, adding to the pile isnt going to reverse the process, and in the end we all lose by trying to being the one person who thought they were a genius and beat the system...in reality all we do is beat ourselves.

The cycle doesnt end by joining the jackasses because its slightly beneficial

My point was extremely simple:

Don't be the ones to cry or act shocked when its gone. Nothing more.
