do you guys think it is worth it buying the Mighty Mystery Bundle from fanatical?
I've heard it's mostly leftovers from previous Fanatical bundles (from around the past month or two or so), so if you've already gotten them you're likely going to get some repeats, but that being said they're generally above average games; worth the price at least imo
You can check out what some people have gotten here

It's Thursday, so time to share my thanks! Shout out to @defaults-channel for gifting me Defunct :) You rock.

Also, I thought it would be fun to highlight some games I finished over the last month since this is Gamers Lair after all!
I don't have much time after work, so I try to play and finish short games. All of the below clock in at 1-5 hours.
I also don't have much spare money as I take care of my elderly parents. All of but one of the below were free! I'm a cheap date :D
You'll notice a lot of the games are also very artistically vibrant or unique in scenario. Games are an art so I appreciate those that break the mold or take chances.

In July I finished:

Finding Teddy - Gifted to me by @hanzo.1.2 :) A Pixel art point-&-click about a girl going to a mysterious closet land to retrieve her teddy from a monster. Cute game, but the music component was hard. You're supposed to guess music notes corresponding to letters of the alphabet just based on their sound. I'm not musically inclined so a lot of them sounded similar to me, making progression impossible without referencing a guide.
Capsule - A game gifted to me by @bigdealbg and highly recommended to me by @tepmpora that looks and controls just like an old-school arcade cabinet game. Described to me as something you'd see the crew from Alien play, which is the perfect description. Super retro, super unique, and a ton of fun. My only gripe is that the text on screen can blur towards the edges due to the retro styling.
Figment: Free on IGClient. An adventure game about courage (literally) and the resiliency it grows through trials. The writing is strong, and the boss fights are to songs they sing. The voice acting can be wicked funny or kinda cringe at times lol but I love the effort and care put into the game.
Cayne - An isometric point-&-click horror game that is free on Steam and...well... unsettling. I don't want to spoil it, so let's just say it follows a woman forced into carrying a child in a less than ideal setting. Kinda unintended ironic timing from me by playing it right after the US Supreme Court's Roe V Wade decision. It's gory. It's creepy. It's... unique.
Symphonia - A moving orchestral platformer that is free on GOG. It's a very short game but stunning, following a bird conductor breathing fresh life into a symphony hall through music.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP - A pixel art mobile game ported to the Epic Store. Honestly a pretty "meh" game. The music sets the mood well but the writing was kind of too hipster for me at times. Super simple controls, pretty environments, and not a very deep game... so, what you'd expect from an early era mobile game lol.
Out of Line - A post-robo apocalyptic puzzle platformer that was included in Prime Gaming. The controls are a little clunky at times but the game has a beautiful painted aesthetic, and the puzzles work well for the pacing. It's not a long game, and the ending felt tacked on, leaving a bit to be desired.
looK INside - Chapter 1 - An easy hidden object game from Prime Gaming that guides the player through a family tree. Each room has a distinct feel and experience that ranged from heartwarming to heart tugging. The social media star level was the most memorable.
Copperbell - Free on IGClient. A folksy sidescroller following a copper bell sent on a quest to beat a forest demon. The artwork reminds me of craft paper, which is so charming. Hitboxes are wonky at times and the final boss is way more challenging than the rest of the game, which was super easy.
Black Widow Recharged - A revamp of a classic arcade shooter that was free on Epic. The endless mode is fun, but the challenge series quickly became repetitive. It's an old arcade game so there's not much depth to it. Good for mindless entertainment in short bursts.

Newer Ubisoft games are an easy pass for me , too much grinding for my taste , I'm sure they are fun to play though .
Too pricy for me (or anyone), and Creed was about the only game from them I really loved...and. they ruined it lol. I liked Watch Dogs, but not nearly as much.

I have Valhalla and a barely even touch it, when before I could barely put Creed games down.

EDIT:

Ya, after the latest stunts...it wouldn't really matter much either way.

Splinter cell for me is their peak , Chaos theory ..... so good .
Last ubisoft game that I really tried to like was that Zelda-like ,but again .... open world was very boring for me .
I noticed as I get older that I like shorter and more linear games , with few exception here and there like Elden Ring .

I always forget they did Splinter Cell (another one I really enjoyed), which is sad since I have a few free ones in my library...for me was that more console era and I wasn't paying attention to company logos

I think thats just an age loses patience thing that happens to us all, or age equals busy lol.

Something really has to drag me in for me to play a long game, particularly a long session, one of the last creeds before it went full Egypt RPG was one of the last games I literally sat up for like 2 days playing.

Now if I'm up for two days I'm usually pissed at someone for causing it, rare party aside...I'm not dead yet :ROFLMAO:

EDIT:

i also liked Prince Of Persia alot, I played that in DOS before Ubisoft had anything to do with it heh.

I'm a completionist when i do play, I could see doing it though (again if I had the patience) for a 22hr run lol.

I have more hours than that and I think I hit like the 3rd piece of land, course I've missed nothing and even went beyond my level sneaking around to steal things haha.

I've put in like 700hrs on some of them, admittedly that run was more on the RPG grind and I didn't enjoy it.

Unlike Star Ocean: The Last Hope, which was my all time highest recorded play time of I think 1500-1600 hours getting all the battle trophies and platinum, I think maybe 100hrs of that were wasted using a turbo controller to grind pointlessly for the last few, the rest were actually enjoyable...although I would NEVER do it again :ROFLMAO:

that's just the story, extras take much more time.

It's pretty cool, but depends on the game

For everyone who gave me racing games (I could write a list) trying to find something similar to NFS: Hot Pursuit...I have almost every game that has racing in the name or a car on the cover at this point thats reasonable to ask for around here, and even a few that are not--again, thank you all for the kindness

I finally tore through them all last night quickly and in order all the way down my list, and I as far as control and gameplay mechanics go these were the closest...the end results kind of shocked me to say the least lol.
  1. FlatOut (Didn't expect this at ALL)
  2. Truck Racer
  3. Horizon Chase Turbo
These Games are untested as of now, and as far as I can recall...are pretty much the only ones around here I haven't tried yet, pretty sure I missed a few that can be won as I'm still remaking my wl.
  • Badlands Racer - Not racing lol.
  • Crazy Buggy Racing (removed for being junk lol)
  • Street Racing Syndicate - needs an entire controller remap before I can test, none of the online config's gave me decent controls.
  • Ignite - Keeps Crashing on me, idk why yet.
  • Crash Time III (or any other, only see part 3 here) - don't own.
  • Dirt 2 - don't own.
  • Grip: Combat Racing - don't own.
I also found this game to have good driving mechanics (although its an entirely different style of game, it seems fun)...its F2P on Steam and i'm not sure if I got it here or found it myself so I'm posting a link in case anyone else is interested ;)

EDIT:

Little Racers Street is also good, just a bit odd since the tracks are almost square corners.

P.A.M. is more like Twisted Metal on a race course (ice cream truck included if you own the dlc, I don't lol) but also seems like alot of fun.
