Macrium Reflect is free.
You can clone the entire drive or just copy off partitions & resize, plus it verifies.
Not sure what features the paid version adds, maybe incremental/scheduled backups? I dont script so Im happy to use MR.
I didn't know this, it was only a free trial back when, sweet thanks.
You don't need to script scheduled backups in anything, they usually take over Windows Backup (like a defrag program takes over the windows scheduler) or just run through the program, basically click and play for general users.
Although their might be advanced command line options as well (Benchmarks like Unigine allow this), I was actually annoyed that its in a 3rd tier price, since I actually have a paid version for tier 2 I got free...tiers in a benchmark program with one test, ridiculous lmao
I also didnt wanna start a who's-pc's-is-better debate. It was more a comment that it runs well on older pc's too. It is a pity Amz Prm is not giving anymore free steam keys. There are too many different platforms now to redeem their games.
For the record my most recent clone was a (full) 1T SSD to a 2T external HDD and that took 38 mins. Yeah I was impressed. Esp when compared to the longest clone. Last year a laptop xp boot drive to an ssd and it took like.. 10 HOURS lol, so I just kind of expect cloning to take a while and either run them overnight or when I'll be afk anyway however Im usually pleasantly surprised they finish quickly.
I wasn't starting any debate about PCs, I'm curious about the programs capabilities as a programmer...but since its free now I'll just check it out myself and drop it at that. I'll let you know if its as good as everyone claims...its already got mine beat by being able to clone SSD to HDD, as long as it does it properly.
In fairness to myself, mine was a 'part' of a bigger program meant for multiple tasks and I didn't get to that point yet, I was just using the disk cloning portion since it worked perfectly while working on other parts, its nowhere near ready for release.
Since you did mention a debate about whos PC is better (assuming you've even caught a glance of mine here)...do you mind if I ask what your rocking for general specs out of curiousity?
No need for brand specifics or anything if you prefer not to share (and you can drop me a PM if you'd like)...but I wasn't aware anyone here was packing enough of a punch to even mention a debate, so i'm interested what your running
Oh.. like never again? If so then I think I missed that piece of news. Meh.
Me too, gaaaay.
Wait.. you werent able to claim the Origin NSFH dlc because you've claimed it on Steam?
Pretty much, bet if i grabbed Origins first it would have worked.
I have to assume that means since I have the game on both it was just added to both since you need to run Origin to play it through Steam in the first place its no surprise Origin would know I claimed it. Find out soon enough...but it doesn't matter, I owned the steam version first so thats what I'd play regardless lol.
