That's funny...I forgot all about the blood code because I played them both (also at a friends) and owned neither, it was a toss up between superior controls and blood, we ended up sticking with the SNES most of the time

well, now you have all the options in the world...but modern games suck ars((Sadly yes, not much choice...even I was young then
it was better then, when gamedevs tried to strike the balance between "what we want" and "what we can".
for example I still think that the Mega Drive's synths were/are better than almost realistic/realistic sound of SNES/PS1.
obviously, it was the limitation, but what kind of amazing, fabulous soundtracks were created within this limitations.
