But there is a free badge for nominating games on steam.
If you want to level up the badge to lv4, make sure to nominate atleast 1 game you own.
Cause to reach lv4 badge, you need to complete tasks of playing a nominated game & writing a review.
Badge just gives some exp for steam profile. So nothing lost if you don't want to.

I tried to nominate a game I own (family or something was the award it offered to vote for) but got an error.
EDIT: turns out that even tho there's a NOMINATE button on each game, the only way I can add my nominations are on the steam awards page by clicking the button then searching for the game and adding it that way. Maybe this'll help someone else.
