The exams went well thankfully and now I'm stuck waiting on the payment from them xD Typical public stuff.. They are always as late as they can be and then some xDDD

Still I kept busy, I was trying to figure out some stuff over at discord + how to make a server (namely which rules matter more) but I didn't had the time to actually start making it. One of those days I'll be starting it + asking friends for help

Meanwhile I'm busting my ass with Shovel Knight Treasure Trove. Finished the 4 games and so far 2 of them in ng+ as well and I'm not done yet. I really really really liked this game..

If anyone is into VN's AND has a strong stomach, I recommend Salthe (18+). WARNING: intense rape scenes and torture among other things + mosaics. Here I'd like to add that it isn't just for the shock factor. It's actually used as a plot device and it will "hurt" you as you WILL like the protagonist. The writing is something I had never seen in a VN before

I'm not supporting blind insults but you should always look and yhe opposite side. In many countries many good words are used as a mere insult without any real hate behind it.
In Greece we use "malakas" a lot which is equivalent to asshole but literally means the guy who plays his d1ck.
Another common thing is "he did a poustia to me". Poustia = something shitty, turned tables, etc BUT comes from poustis = faggot (to refer to the fact that he got fucked in the ass by X person metaphorically)
Not everyone using it is vs gay people. In English it sounds a lot worse but in Greek nobody would think for a second that this has anything to do with gay hatred.
Basically, I'm trying to explain some linguistic differences and that someone using such a word might nit necessarily be bigoted.

Yes, we gotta explain to people using them that X is wrong for Y, Z, etc reasons but don't automatically mark them as something from the use of a word.

no comment on the russian TV factor obviously since I clearly wouldn't know without using a VPN to watch russian internet based broadcasts...and its still the internet.

I wanted to say a few things.

1. I agree that region blocking russia was foolish at best, again unless they were threatened by steam due to russian reaction to the game
2. All of our governments are lying to us, most people are just too sheepish to realize it ::cough:: ::cough::
3. If we were banning people for politics...not like we can, you'd unfortunately be the first to go my friend

I'd like to stand on (1) a bit. I recently had a friend that didn't want to buy a game because X production member was RU.
Yes, we all see how bad war is.
Blocking blindly every RU thing and person is senseless.. Let alone the notion that 2-3 euros to a large RU team would had any affect on the war or how RU people see all else.
The silly notion that by blocking they will "understand" they did wrong.
First of all, historians for a reason don't write history in less than 50 years after the end of an event.
Secondly, the more you exclude someone, the less likely is they will ever understand anything. No matter what it's about, you gotta be inclusive first so they will see "your life", point of view, etc. Casting out only grows hatred

Politics vs simple world view, isn't always so easy to differentiate.
For me what matters more is the tone and intensity.
It's 1 thing to say/explain something and another to start a crusade or just insult someone because you can with 0 arguments.
As much as we would like to avoid them, especially in games, they will always be in our faces along with many other issues games tackle in their plots

The fact that we shouldn't fight about them (not in this way anyway) is another story

A degree isn't everything + politicians can easily find degrees out of thin air
Real education and not just knowing technicalities matters more imo. You can learn to read and write or memorize a text passage but without critical thinking and real education you are going nowhere :/
