Soju is a Korean liquor. It tastes kind of similar to vodka but sweeter, if that makes any sense. Since I live in Korea, this is pretty much a common part of my life, haha. It goes down pretty easy (easier than vodka IMO, but a certain Russian user may disagree, lol), but that's also because the alcohol content is lower. The most common kinds of soju are not super high quality, so it can lead to nasty hangovers. In Korea, one normal bottle of soju comes out to around $1.50 USD or less. It can be a major problem, lol

Baijiu is a Chinese liquor. It takes kind of like... how can I put this... rocket fuel? 😅 It's kind of gross, but it's a very quick buzz, and I don't know why, but I never get hungover when I'm forced to drink it (my SO is Chinese, so I get roped into it every so often).

And I actually like tequila quite a bit. It's one of my favorite shots. I have trouble handling whiskey tho, haha

You're definitely drinking industrial ethanol. 🤣 Since it's mainly used as fuel, sanitizer, raw material etc. they won't bother to remove impurities like methanol etc. with distillation.
