please, tell us the average temperature of the cpu and gpu in some new games
because I was thinking about buying something similar
I will have to figure out how to do that, but I'll let you know if I can, lol

So far I did a bit of testing with The Witcher 3. Fans went on almost instantly, but not too loud, and the computer never felt overly hot. It was playable at highest setting (RT Ultra or something like that), but not the smoothest. One step down to the basic ray tracing level was very nice though, and one step lower to just Ultra was buttery! Things got a little dicey when I connected it to my TV to play on the big screen, but I figure I just need to fiddle with some stuff to get that working better.

thanks for sharing your experience
yes, you can dig into the laptop settings. I read that you can adjust the voltage of the video card and find the optimal value for operation. But you need to study how to do it correctly

Yeah, I'm pretty new with all this stuff coming from a Mac, but I'll figure everything out in baby steps as needed, lol

This is a list of people who did Giveaways in Gamers Lair since the last time I made a list. I tried to include anybody who gave away 2 or more games, even if it was to hit multiple people's Wishlists. I think it's easy to forget just how many people have dedicated some of their time and effort to be kind to others, seeing it as a list helps me wrap my head around just how much sharing actually happens around here. Thank you for your generosity, all of you. (y)

Thank you for sharing this, you should also include Dark_ Gamer, his latest gift for me yesterday was Koi-Koi Japan [Hanafuda playing cards]. And I'm pretty sure he gifted more since your last list.

I need help, i was searching for an anime site that i could watch full hd, then it redirected me to an obviously malicious link, i didn't click nor download anything, when i saw the strange link i pressed crtl+w fast to close the tab.

Perhaps did i get infected or something? Do i just reset my pc?
Use VirusTotal to scan the site.

Impossible to say without knowing where exactly you clicked, what exactly you got sent to etc etc.

I'd be more concerned about any sites that allow 3rd party logins you were signed into passwords (assuming you weren't using incognito mode) or really bad settings.

How were you able to tell it was malicious?

Some of those never ending popup's "play to win", or download this extension...are only as malicious as doing exactly the annoying shit they say...others not so friendly.

This is when a malware scanner is actually more useful than being tech savvy--depending if you want to take chances, because its always a chance.

BE WARNED THIS MAY CAUSE GAMES TO RE-DOWNLOAD FILES AND NOT WORK UNTIL YOU DO

vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

More often than not, clearing all your browser cookies, your temp files, "username/appdata/temp" folder as well (ironically skipped as temporary cache lol) , steam browsers blah blah and so on...everywhere you can think of that holds temporary data will be enough....sometimes not.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Most of the time "not clicking" will prevent anything IMO, but there is always a chance...they usually go for already accessible data though like I said, signed in accounts that can have widgets for auto sign in (I.E. Steam) if you were ALREADY logged into those and past 2FA

Again, its a risk either way...I would at least download all the most known scanners you can and run those if your worried enough to ask here, since nobody can travel back in time to see what happened or actually access your PC to look manually.

MalwareBytes
Norton Power Eraser (NPE.EXE--one of the best)

Even AVG (or Avast--same program lol) and Kaspersky for extra measure.

Can't just 'guess' unfortunately, thats not how these things work

Hope that helps somewhat.
Tried replying all tha answered but gala is at it again.

I reseted my pc, seems the best for me, and about already logged sites, there were some, i usually use brave, as it has some " defences" and also protect me against ads.

I tipped the anime link, but got redirected, for sure it was a malicious link, if not why wouldnk be redirected, i didnt wait, but the page was " white"
