Racers Drift
Monster League
This game is hockey on wheels, literally...pick you favorite Monster of the Night from Dracula to Frank (Frankenstein) and try to knock the puck into the enemies goal, so far I don't see much track or racer stat variations (3 rinks unlocked from the start) but its pretty fun none the less.
Reverse turning is...well, reversed
compared to most normal racers, but the camera isn't exactly behind you all the time either so maybe thats more normal here, but not for me.
You get "Mario Kart" style boxes spread around the rink spawning repeatedly and cycling through weapons which blind opponents, freeze them, bomb them...or the puck in most cases (can't blind the puck lol)
The controls are good, camera angles could use some work (and I'd like to be able to reverse my reverse lol)...but after setting steam to use my generic gamepad, all was well in that sense...it did start me on KB
Definitely not what I was expecting, but its a variation...sort of like Turbo Golf Racing.
In case I didn't mention that one already, you can likely take a guess, about the same thing (different gameplay of course) except your going to get it in the green against other vehicles, another fun variation for ppl who don't particularly like racers.
All-Star Fruit Racing
This one is a bit fruity as you can imagine, your weapons are seasonal fruit based, interesting fact though is you can combine or disconnect any of the four filled "fruit bowls?" and mix and match to make different power ups. Each racer having unique style moves (and names, like "SharkMelon" and "Avocadobite")
This has basic racing controls, good ones at that...similar to Sonic Racing where drifting will give you a speed boost after you do...with a catch, too much drifting will cause an engine failure from overheating.
Seems to be about 5-6 courses, with about just as many modes, like elimination, dragster, etc...which I won't go into explaining. basic racing to weaponized combat to put it simply.
Another one lacking tons of content from what I can see, but its hard and its fun, tracks are confusing due to all the landscape like trees and such making staying on the path a bit difficult at first. controls are mint and the graphics are great, if not realistic.
I'd recommend this one at a decent price for fast fun.
Gearshifters (Fanaticals Platinum Bundle IIRC)
This one reminds me of Spy Hunter for NES...can't even call it a racer, but if your looking for that kind of RETRO game, this ones for you.
en.m.wikipedia.org
The enemies come with front and rear facing weapons and come from either direction as well, you can crash into them, shoot them, etc...you also get bonuses for winning each level.
Not much more to say about this one, it literally reminds me of a left/right driving instead of an up/down driving version of Spy Hunter.
Which means I'm all for it...and its biased
Nickelodeon Kart Racers Grand Prix 2
Mario Kart Meets Sonic Racing with Sponguebob, Airbender Aang and the f'kin Ninja Turtles...good controls, interesting tracks--pure gold.
End of review
To be continued when I can swallow another round of racing...
