Chrono Trigger version was for PS1.
Definitely disagree with you here, Super Nintendo was much much better, maybe not graphical, but loading times on PS are horrible compared to SNES.

Actually the original steam port is based on PS1, including its loading times if I'm not mistaken

I can't remember if that was the Steam port or the PS3 emulated port, I've owned Chrono Trigger and FFVI so many times I lost track.

Own them, beat them, hated every battle all the way through the Chrono trigger ports lol.

That's what I remember too. It had some videos which the SNES didn't have (obviously) but don't remember if the videos brought anything new (except for the wow factor).

Why is it strange? Perhaps there is some misunderstanding, because my childhood was on the period when the MD and SNES were actual platforms, and not the relatively cheap toys for younger children, which they later became, so they cost a lot. In a country where salaries was very low.
The first thing that stunned me there was definitely Doom. You can read articles and watch videos what a bad port it is, but when it's here and right now, and you can play it without a computer, it was great. Don't even play, just watch how someone play. Then there was a non-obvious selection of games, but each of which I liked. It was definitely Alien 3, which was much better than all the other versions. It was Mario. It should be noted that I didn't see the third game on NES at the time, and we always considered the second part to be some kind of Chinese hack like Darkwing Duck 2 instead of Super C (which is not too far from the truth), so all the improvements passed me by and that game was gorgeous and new in everything. Super Empire Strikes Back - It was really great, but the difficulty was inadequate. Mega Man X. No, we didn't know how it ended. Castlevania. Not IV, but that cut port of Rondo of Blood, forgot the name. I'm pretty sure there was some sort of Jurassic Park (2?). Apparently, that was all at that time. But I liked it much more than the sega - how it looks, animations, sounds. The only thing I remember is that I played Aladdin too, but it was a complete disaster compared to the megadrive version. And I don't like SNES RPGs. At that time, Square started to go somewhere in the wrong direction in terms of frequency of battles and increasing difficulty, which then finally killed all remaining interest in the days of PS1. (And where did you even get any knowledge of the English language in the mid-nineties?) If I were to choose the top ten RPGs for SNES, it would be Link to the Past (rpg, eh?), Earthbound and all. Chrono Trigger is honestly aside from the list, because there is an expanded version on the DS.
It's strange 'cause of the same actuall reason you've cited aka. snes never was cheap child toy in our country. But Sega was. I mean, it costed me 100 hrivna (of course it wasn't the original one but at least it said SEGA and not some Simba or Kenga, hah) when I've got my first scolarship (стипендия) and aside from the fact that the games for MD were cheap enough (lower than 40-50 hrivna) I could even trade cartridges in the store itself after I've completed the game at home. It was around 2007-2008, if it tells anything to you.
And before that (while I was in middle school) there was those arcades where there were multiple MD's and anyone could play any game, only paying for the time you play. For example, that was the first time I've played anything other than Dendy. Noone here tried to do the same stuff with SNES, and afterwards PS1's killed those MD's in those aracades. I've still used my food money everyday in the arcades with PS1's but only at home I could now play the MD. Maybe it was much different at your region all together and that's why it seems very odd to me.

Now about the games...
Well, I still prefer NES Mega Man's over the X's ones, but that's just me))
Completely agree that Alien 3 for SNES was the best version of the game (still think that someone should done the same with Cameron's Aliens in terms of gameplay...but I guess it was too late for a movie from the eighties), still gives me the chills.
About Castlevania - well, I've played it long after and I've tried the PCE one first so the SNES one seemed butchered for me, same goes for the port of Doom (by that time I've already played the original).
Jurassic Park (2) - you mean Chaos Continues (sidescroller) or that strange remake of the NES game where everything is top-down untill you enter the building and now it's suddenly FPS?)) I preffer The Lost World (i.e. The Original JP2) for Genesis either way, it had so much more in it.
RPG's gone wrong - wait...but there always were that strange thing with difficulty in the genre, am I not right? Also there were not only Square's/Enix's rpg's on the platform too, what about those?
And no, Legend of Zelda wasn't rpg back at the time, two others though yeah, those qounts.
About the english in 90's - how do you think I know it so well? School teaching and my own interests like US metal bands. And after mobile internet became a thing in UA all the wiki's about comics/games/movies etc. I wanted to read that info so I've tried my best to know the language. Too bad I can't do the same for japanese XDDDD
The only three games I would really miss if Super Nintendo had suddenly vanished in thin air. And the best Chrono Trigger version was for PS1.
Really? Have you played Kirby's Dream Land 3? It's simply AMAZING! And what about both Super Mario Worlds?? And a heffty other 20+ great games which weren't multiplatform?
Oh, so THAT'S why she isn't around this days...

I don't think the owners are gonna look at a new tenant funny if i'm walking around outside near kids with buckets of boiling water 😂😂😂

Thats fucky creepy as hell too.
I can see you're an IF/AND/BUT kind of guy, you like to cross all your t's and dot all your i's (or you're just busting my balls), either way, I got you covered. (y)

Here We Go!:
If I were worried about carrying boiling water near others (especially children) I would transfer it to a Thermos and safely transport it that way while maintaining the ability to pour it at a controlled rate (the one I have is designed to pour coffee either slow or fast with the adjustable screw-on stopper). I would make a mental note of what time those kids are in school, only then would I mess with anthills, when they're not around, and I agree with your choice of long term solution (ant bait traps) for your particular situation, but be sure not to remove the scent trail(s) that lead up to it, you want them to be able to find it easily, so only remove scent trails near your peanut butter/jelly/snacks/etc. Just be sure to place those bait traps somewhat away from your food supply (try not to get them wet).

I haven't seen one since we started this conversation now, it came up here because I was literally all over doing shit to keep them out of the zone they seemed to like...can't say the same for the silver fish, but those mostly pop out dead or close anyways.

The ants weren't...and I don't recommend anyone do this under a heater (although separate and I have no intention of using it ever)

It lets off toxins at high temps...I can't tell if i'm breathing that or the idiot neighbors pot or both because of my reaction to it, I may end up needing to scrape it out if that keeps up--but it might be enough to get rid of the scent trails into the unit and make them head elsewhere in the meantime.

In my defense, my heats electric and on my breakers in my unit (which are off) and my bill, so I have no idea why it would be heating up enough to let off fumes (something like 100 degrees), it was a sound plan...not taking into account damaged pipes or my heat being tampered with.

IMG_20230524_1803383~2.jpg

I don't care what the can says...to accomplish keeping those little bastards out, it was NOT less mess :ROFLMAO:

EDIT:

For the record, i'm more of a "think of every scenario, from every POV, even if they are totally unrealistic" kind of guy...and then say fuck it anyways when people piss me off :ROFLMAO:

So I guess...I'm kind of that way?

I'm seeing it as what would I be thinking if some weirdo new to my building walked around scouring the grass near a group of kids that my kid played with everyday...they would automatically hit my radar as either a lunatic, a pedi, maybe both...and if I thought for a second they'd touch my kids I'd kill'em on the spot without blinking.

The simple version tho in truth...I have three complexes that can see me with like 20 apts in each, and I could just complain about the bugs...its not exactly the first impression I want to give everyone, its not like I have my own front or back yard like i believe your thinking.

The thermos idea is a good one, and if all else fails I'll keep it in mind....but the problem may already be solved if I'm lucky.

Really amazing to play Doom on consoles. I had/have Doom 32x and it was amazing!

Fun fact: Doki Doki Panic was released for Famicom Japan only one year before Super Mario Bros 2 and it is considered to be the real SMB2. There are some graphic differences, different characters, different music etc.

yes, I wasn't. but as I thought, it's also a matter of time. Because the last time I was interested in the price of a cartridge (a chinese pirated one, of course) for the NES, it still cost that much:
1,000,000_Karbovantsiv_(1995_obverse).jpg
Well, as I said, my family didn't have money for anything else than NES clone. But it's about friends. I was lucky enough to play a Game Boy in the first half of nineties (only two games, but c'mon), played a bit of the SNES, a lot more on the Genesis, and even got my hands on the N64 when it just faded into eternity in the very early 2000s. (There is no point in talking about PS1, times were completely different at that point).
It was around 2007-2008, if it tells anything to you.
At that time I already had a PS2 and several boxes (not dvd-boxes, literally packіng boxes :)) of games for it (and still have them somewhere). it was the ultimate machine for humiliating children on the Internet, because I played San Andreas at the end of 2004, and they shed tears only a year and a half later on crooked bad pirated потрачено copies that were launched once in a while.
Yes, there were times. But I never went there. The first time I went to the computer (computer!) club was in 2001, when the first Serious Sam released, and I stayed up all night playing it. I went there for some essays and documents for the coursework, but my friend worked there, and as it happened, it happened, there was almost no time for essays. Then I went there two more times and that was it. So I haven't been to those clubs. Even in the old days I played soviet shitty arcade machines like Sea Battle and Safari much more :)
Well, I still prefer NES Mega Man's over the X's ones, but that's just me))
They were never on pirated cartridges. never. maybe the pirates fixed it later, but not in my time.
RPG's gone wrong - wait...but there always were that strange thing with difficulty in the genre, am I not right?
No. Everything was in order on the NES. Well, Enix (before the dark times, before the square-) managed to withstand the bar of adequacy in Dragon Quest, so I love all together and every single part of this game. But I haven't had a chance to play them on SNES, even just see them, so I prefer the Zenithia trilogy on DS.
Yes, it was, The Chaos Continues.
And after mobile internet became a thing in UA
Are we still talking about the times before 2002? :) I remember the mobile Internet of those times was lying at every step. Along with mobile phones.
Kirby's Dream Land 3
A very unfortunate example of a technically complex game with obvious problems with sales in Europe (it was never released here physically) as a matter of principle. This game was already played mostly later on emulators when they could do it.
and it's not "hrіvna", it's hryvnia, c'mon.

The DS re-release contains all of the bonus material from the PlayStation port, as well as other enhancements. The added features include a more accurate and revised translation by Tom Slattery, a dual-screen mode which clears the top screen of all menus, a self-completing map screen, and a default "run" option. It also features the option to choose between two control schemes: one mirroring the original SNES controls, and the other making use of the DS's touch screen. Masato Kato participated in development, overseeing the addition of the monster-battling Arena, two new areas, the Lost Sanctum and the Dimensional Vortex, and a new ending that further foreshadows the events of Chrono Cross.

This was around the time I got my PS3 :ROFLMAO:

I had it better when I was young, contrary to your situation...by the time SNES came around my family wasn't sitting the same and I never owned one myself, I did end up with a Genesis...but I share your opinion of which is the better of those two systems, so I barely touched it.
that much:
How much is that in USD? Curiosity 🤷‍♂️
No. Everything was in order on the NES. Well, Enix (before the dark times, before the square-)
Legendary statement. Also agree.
Dragon Quest
Took me years to realize this was Dragon Quest later, actually forget years, a few years ago
and it's not "hrіvna", it's hryvnia, c'mon.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

I just had a fucking breakdown and fell out of my chair
