There are female devs among them, but, yeah, mostly men - and mostly not that talented.
I've no doubt there are females, hard to tell by the nick's though usually unless you actively chat up every dev (idk where you'd find THAT much time, I can barely try every game out there

I'm the opposite - I want a story. That's why I play VNs in general. And even with smuts, what's the point in throwing porn-after-porn scenes without the story? If people only want porn, there are thousands of free porn sites - even if their kink is digitally generated characters, there are lots of hentai out there.
I have nothing against a story either, but if its a lewd VN, I want some lewd scenes.
The one I mentioned earlier (BM), that completely pulled me in for the story alone...and like we both stated before, the other project is by no means a full fledged VN...its just smut thrown together with a wacky story to test his code--which he openly tells people 'if' they stumble across it by looking directly for his work.
Ironically, I found even that to be slightly interesting (the first scene with the mother though)...that was too much straight studio I actually fucking laughed my ass off.
I wanted to ask which dimension they landed in to leave that in there or if it was meant to be a joke about the VN dev community.
I generally don't idolize or disrespect other programmers for their work, although I'll give my opinion about a game or whatnot, I try not to bring devs directly into my remarks...I will however spit in their faces for their actions instead of their code, BM earned my respect by theirs, Doc lost mine the same way.
I'm not a fan boy or anything but its hard for a complete stranger to earn my respect period, particularly a programmer...since not much wows me anymore in that area, but being level headed and honest in a place thats generally the opposite most of the time will get my attention.
Dbl PenCok basically spit on his fans in public...obviously gonna lose my respect then...landlord who handles problems has good tenants, companies with good warranties have loyal customers...you get my point.
An thats not why I brought this up...I would have simply said they were a cocksucking dirt bag, which they are, but I honestly think their might be more to that story than either of us know.
Regardless, figured I'd explain my POV before I bowed out of this conversation. I could honestly care less in truth, I wasn't a patron and I hate them now...not much to really concern myself with either way, just found it interesting when I came across it.
