Yep, that was exactly how the Grid update went...total nightmare. Personally, patching always seems slower for me, but Grid when I did it and THIS, thats just plain screwed up somewhere along the line, maybe you should try updating Epic (NOT reinstalling, so you don't lose your library) by downloading the installer and running it while its STILL installed. I can't even update Epic through the launcher 99% of the time, I just go download it now automatically when a new version hits. Other than that idfk lol.

FN is the only epic game I had on a drive that I wanted to move but I resized that drive's partition first and epic cracked the shits and said it wasnt installed. Even tho I copied it to the new drive, renamed it, started the install in the drive I want it in, then paused. Renamed the copied file. yadda yadda yadda. Such a hassle moving epic games. Steam is so simple. <sigh> Epic usually does a verify check after you rename the file and resume the install. Not this time.

I've done that, you have to start the install, CANCEL it entirely. Exit Epic, transfer the files and then relaunch epic and continue, pausing never worked for me. If you still have the original files, it might be worth a try.

Sorry, I meant cancel. Meh I moved it back to the original drive. Installed in 10 mins. How annoying.

I guess itch devs joined the giveaway scene, no idea about groupees myself, but both games ARE on itch (for free download btw) and complete so as long as you grab them now you can skip the whole GA page heh.

Hrm, only way I can see that happening is if it started a gigantic file first OR because it was mid-update, you should be able to swap it now the same way...just make sure you don't let it download a second longer than it needs to on the new drive, the rest you already know.

One last suggestion that might matter...delete the new folder it creates entirely and cut and paste the one thats complete. It might change the file times if you copy them all as files, where it likely won't if you move the folder.

Theres another idea you could use as well...this is how I load all my games under the pretense and cache of an SSD.

MAKE SURE EPIC IS NOT RUNNING AT ALL

To move your entire Epic Library folder to another drive and for example lets just say its in the default folder.

Rename your epic game folder (or single game folder) to "Epic GamesX" or the single game to "Epic games\GameX"

You need to do this because we'll be creating a junction with the real folder name epic uses.

Create a folder on the other drive called something like "D:\Epic Games" or "D:\Epic Games\Game_Name" (without the X)

you can add the game name instead of doing the whole Epic folder, but this is for all of it...

If you want to do a single game just rename only the game folder and repeat the same process

Epic Games\GamesX

Now copy all the game folders or the single game folder from "Epic GamesX" to "D:\Epic Games" and Epic won't know the difference next time you load it up.

Oh. Its thursday 😔

(OH!!! First time EVER getting over 5K tho! Helps if you turn your speakers riiiiiiiiiiight down till you can baaaaaarely hear it. I think thats how I lose patience with it and sub without hitting 5K usually.)
