It's really sad. I got Scarlet Nexus from a Humble Bundle. If I ever wanted to buy the Ultimate DLC for it, it would be cheaper to just buy the Ultimate version of the game when it is on sale.
This is the same with Code Vein as well, but I caught the ultimate edition upgrade on Fanatical a bit after our now busy GOAT (Pygmy) gifted me the base game which still had quite a few add-on's by the time I activated it, same with this game...I was at least given enough DLC for a sick outfit (Tales Of) and a Decent starting weapon.
I bought the Code Vein DLC for like 5-6.99 which was at least less than the Ultimate Edition was (probably not during THAT sale), but during normal Steam sales anyways, and considering the base game was a gift (or in your case HB) that I'm sure you got for another reason, waiting for a DLC sale isn't so terrible. This was also a gift as you know if you've been following the lair fully...and I see it this way, especially in the case of Scarlet Nexus since I was 50/50 on ever buying it, at least I get to play the fucking game.
If I miss out on some extras...or decide I want them later its a choice I can make if/when I need or want it. I'm certainly not complaining about likely being gifted the same key your speaking of because someone who wanted to play it more than me at the time bought themselves the full game realizing the exact same thing and handed me the base game thats for sure, not only would it be ungrateful and disgraceful...it may have been the only way I ever played it at all.
Sad as it for Bandai Namco in the sales department, the head of it must be mentally challenged (at least they don't discriminate), they;re still probably my favorite company since almost 80% of the games I load up that keep my attention flash their logo across my screen
If I had to pick one, they would be it...for their games, and honestly the new Tales Expansion looks worth the cost, the Pre-Order extras was a bad move, but knowing them it'll be $30 till the end of time anyways so we might as well
My other favorites companies for game would be XSEED, I've actually spoken to the owner as well since they are a small company (he returned my email over a damaged book from a Trails of cold Steel game lmao--good dude) and they do alot of my favorite RPGs as well.
Square is scum, they refused to give me my prize from a raffle I won which was a gift card--to their OWN fucking store for months, by the time I had to bother them enough for them to even tell me what the prize was, I told them to stick it up their ass and close my SE account and did just that...but I still love their games and I can't help the fact, particularly Final Fantasy and those era,
Those companies (along with NIS who I hate but handles the YS series) are probably 75% of my wishlist and all of them are terrible with prices, along with the other company (Looking at you Ultimate Bubisoft Edition)
Square NEVER does good sales...and never does bundles.
Trails Of right now is 4 times as insane, the latest Ultimate edition is $300 fucking dollars and they still haven't didn't a decent sale on Trails Of Steel IV Ultimate after the fact--and this game is a fucking death grind without the DLC, or just death because the accessory to prevent it is really the main goal in having the extras

legit.
Honestly Bandai Namco is the lesser of the evils being realistic, this is the first big blow your fan base move I've ever seen them do and I usually (like I did with Tales), buy the Ultimate Editions as pre-order even at the insane $120 cost, same with the YS series, simply because they are USUALLY the full game, I've already bought the Sword Art Collab DLC and I thought that was BS, its getting out of hand now.
Square has officially took the lowest of the evil spot since they never do DLC and at least you know about Episodic idiocy before hand and at least full games are full game--just don't speak with them
God what a rant...all these companies suck. especially Ubi since their DLC basically adds half a game usually and every edition is $120, now, even Watch Dogs and shit lol. Hopefully Mirage and Prince of Persia break that cycle, I'd play alot more of their games day one if they started too.
Sorry ppl, this is my actual territory that drives my gaming passion...I'm a late life racer, RPGs are what kept me in the Game
