Kingdom Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning - 45GB

I owned this for PS3, god knows how many times I restarted the story in that version, so my ADHD has nothing to do with this one not being a very long run...

First thing I noticed was sound issues, opening cut-scene (and what I gather on the boards, all cut-scenes) was entirely mute until a certain point.

My next sad realization was that the camera actually became worse on the PC port, even with options to change it...not to the degree of unplayable, but it moves too fast side to side compared to the console, I tweaked it enough to deal with it.

To my dismay I realized next that the breadcrumbs in my cracker barrel pasta had gone stale 🤷‍♂️ such is life.

That actually sums up the bad shit 😲

Onto the good stuff...

The DLC armor in this version actually shows up heh...shepherd's armor equipped, shield of truth, flaming chakram and flaming staff for now since thats my preferred element in this game and also my perk for my character race (intentionally) along with lock picking (you do ALOT of that in this game)

This also earned me the achievement "Streaker" since I wanted to dump all my gear before raiding the DLC chest and sell it :ROFLMAO:

After playing the excruciatingly long tutorial and getting used to the fast spinning camera I don't see much difference from the console port really, "slightly" improved graphics, a save game location that moved like 4 times since release costing me my previous saves 😒 and some minor tweaks to RNG (in a bad way IMO), nothing much else seems different.

So if you've played it before like I have on PS3 you'll know what to expect, if not...its a good action RPG that would actually be easier to watch the videos on the store page for a description...and just know it actually lives up to the gameplay, unlike most.

For weapons you get long swords, great swords, hammer, chakram, bow, staff, sceptre (magic shot), daggers which dual wield in one hand slot and assassinate, as well as fae blades which are similar but have different actions behind them, there are 2 'general' armor categories between magic buffs and melee perks but a million armor (random as hell), I actually grabbed the better mage DLC armor for when I prefer to cast.

The game has all the bells and whistles of a good Action RPG and sincerely too many items to choose from for stat modification based on playstyle...the DLC armor has the bonus of not needing to ever be repaired as well as perks based on how many of the set you equip which makes it a no brainer early on to mid-game

On top of that you get to choose another perk based on where you allocate your skill points which is considered your "fate"...since you supposedly have no destined role. This also comes in as another ability called Fateshifting that basically jacks up all your stats and allows you to kill all the enemies you've brought down at once for bonus exp if you trigger a kill before it ends.

Theres really too much detail to go into in one of these reviews, and way more than I have the patience for...but its a damned good game and it hasn't changed much in that aspect.

This ones much more 'action' based and fluid than dragons dogma, although thats been on my backlog too it reminds me more of two worlds with the slow and janky combat...even in the very first screen I feel like I'm going to be slashing in slow motion. Maybe I'll hit that one next.

don't forget Bruce Dickingdaughter made a song about daughter

Honey, it's getting close to midnight
And all the myths are still in town
True love and lipstick on your linen
Bite the pillow, make no sound
If there's some living to be done
Before your life becomes your tomb
You'd better know that I'm the one
Unchain your back door
Invite me around

[Chorus 1]
Bring your daughter
Bring your daughter to the slaughter
Let her go, let her go, let her go
Bring your daughter
Bring your daughter to the slaughter
Let her go, let her go, let her go
Let her go, yeah

Reminds me of Thanos in Marvel Avengers.
