Benchmark is not for me, I never felt the need to use them, I'm a basic user ehheezbench is actually ok for what it is.
I know you mean benchmarks in general, but they're useful to test the stability of new hardware.
I found out my $2,000 GPU had a power issue thanks to 3DMark and the other software for the GPU/Motherboard before my 30 day return was up (I was warrantied regardless) or even worse, it shorted out my entire rig considering its like 500w itself
They have their purpose, mind you I also melted my fan screw stoppers above my beast of a 3090 by benching it too often without opening my case for airflow so your not wrong either (again, saved by my warranty)--Corsair and EVGA are both loyal to the customer to the point of iconic within warranty time periods, sometimes even beyond unlike alot of other companies. GPU is EVGA (R.I.P. the GPU King) and Fans were Corsair heh.
I've learned alot about PCs in my life, but no more important lesson in all my years as the fact your actually lucky if something goes wrong when its remotely new...you get the chance to see if the company will back up their products.
Corsair is literally incredible, replaced the most expensive part I had from them (All in one cooler or AIO) because they "didn't want to take a chance".
EVGA has a head of support (Jaeson Wilda) that has helped me more than once, truly cares for the customers first, even though EVGA stopped making GPUs I started buying and testing their other parts because of how good of a person he is, I trust him to handle any issues and actually consider him a friend in a way.
One thing money can't buy is trust.
Sorry, got sidetracked...point being benchmarking all day is stupid, benchmarking new parts is a good idea.
Didn't expect Corsair having such a good customer service.
