WILL
Thais the part that really grinds my gears, if they told you which keys before the purchase it would be much less insulting.
Absolute bottom line...its a shit deal, and if your concerned with sales that much like I am about getting 30 day keys because I'm broke--the the bottom line there is you shouldn't donate to charity.
I've been at the very bottom of the food chain, going to food pantries and shit to survive...I'm all for supporting a good cause when it won't break the bank and I know they will actually get the proceeds...I've bought HB bundles just to support minority programmers since as a programmer (who has NEVER tried to make a dime off a single program), I believe they should have the opportunity to enjoy the world I love...among others charities obviously.
I don't donate to charity when I see shit like this, its like saying buy my game to support a cause and then I'm going to revoke said game because I'm a greedy fucking dick. Most of these same devs have had their games up on Fanatical with almost zero control about who buys how many and the same exact thing happens, they end up in markets forever.
Did they care then? No, because fanatical wouldn't have allowed it and their game has near zero fan base so they were making more by selling them cheap than they could have at full price.
The same rule applies here and the charity should make it against their terms for devs to revoke keys or ban them from any future charities just like Fanatical would have done...but being a charity based concept they can't see the green eyed monster behind those devs.
I'd love a list of the keys that do get revoked, so I can blacklist the devs permanently...its bad enough they whine and bitch about grey markets MAKING them sales when they are desperate enough to sell them cheap anyways just because the sellers make a small profit after paying what the devs asked from any person who bought their game at the time.
But revoking charity keys is pretty much as low as you can go.
Statement
Like I said before...I AM a dev, my goal when I started was to make video games, and in their exact shoes I would either determine if it was worth what I made or I could afford the loss to do it or I simply wouldn't do it at all. Its not charitable to the customer to take back what they bought and most people aint rich
And because of that statement

alone...there is absolutely nothing on earth you can say that would change my mind. I would practice what I preach, I have the right to preach.
EDIT:
I went back to find another Microsoft game and didn't realize I quoted and responded to an old post...oh well, I'm leaving it after all that
