[News] Sega announced they are developing new games from old franchises: Golden Axe, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Street of Rage
Bomb rush cyberfunk already beat them, release first
but maybe JSR will sell by nostalgia

Noice!!!

I doubt they'll do Crazy Taxi right (doubt they could, the gameplay just won't mesh), or Shinobi...look at Ninja Gaiden 😂

i've actually never play jetset radio, and they can't really fail with Golden axe and street of rage lmao. If they do they should stick to Sonic.
Crazy taxi if they made it more open world then the arcade looks cool! I prefered if the new Shinobi was more like new Strider. Tbh I'd prefer to play the original Shinobi if they have to destroy a classic.
I played jetset radio on steam but controls were weird with the keyboard, need a pad for sure.
...Shining Force? No? Don't care then.
I hoped they can make Shining Force too, anyway in the trailer they listed those games and they wrote "and many more" so I hope it will start to refresh some other old franchises.
I was gonna add in that I wish they'd redo that game too...considering the scale of fans they probably should have tried
yeah they would have big fanbase.
Although, the new Golden Axe doesn't sound bad.
If only someone could tell Taito to create Cadash 2...
It looks really good, just mounting this again is epic

Cadash 2 would be really great or just a remake of the first one!
Or Himeya to make Divi Dead 2 - and I can die a happy man.
never heard of this one.
Two more games I've never played. Golden Axe and Streets Of Rage sounds good though.
for real man? it was in every arcade room.
I liked all those side-scrollers hack'n'slash, but I'd prefer Capcom's The King of Dragons, Knights of the Round and Final Fight remakes.
me too, really loved side scrolling beat'em up those from Capcom were classics and my favourite ones!

Knights of the Round and Final Fight
I'd agree here, especially final fight...although I prefer Mighty Final Fight for GBA and Legion: The Legend of Excalibur for PS1 heh.
Tbh I'd prefer to play the original Shinobi if they have to destroy a classic.
Totally agree on this one, thats where Ninja Gaiden went wrong...and the difficulty lol.
for real man? it was in every arcade room.
I meant Divi Dead and Cadash. Everyone has played Golden axe lol.

This game is dark (Octopath Traveler II), I'm glad I didn't start with my second characters path, I'm. not gonna drop story spoilers, but for anyone who may try the demo...I highly suggest not starting with Osvald--pretty sure I wouldn't have bought the game because the beginning of his tale was a slow dragging death unlike my own choice  even if the story was good.

Steam Support :: Windows 7 and Windows 8 Support (steampowered.com)

As of January 1 2024, Steam will officially stop supporting the Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems. After that date, existing Steam Client installations on these operating systems will no longer receive updates of any kind including security updates.
I'm sure half the reason for this is that most newer games are all changing requirements as well. Its been planned for quite some time, at least for Windows 7, I was unaware it would be on 8/8.1 as well...which makes my statement more likely to be right.

I know there are workarounds and such (also agree its BS ftr), but on the developer end so much as implementing new sound features added to Windows 10 as well as all the graphics enhancements and still making them work for Windows 7 is a serious chore.

My theory on it from a dev aspect personally is if it works, don't fix it...especially if it works for older operating systems, if the games is old enough to have been coded for Windows 7 then most sales will likely come from that OS now anyways or there won't be enough to justify overhauling it to add newer features and screwing over people who bought it for Windows 7.

But thats my view, people are idiots and will try to scrape every dollar out of a few more sales rather than be loyal to their customers unfortunately.

I was one of the die hard Windows 7 users, even as a dev...but eventually when trying to reinstall onto bigger drives I had to use GPT and I couldn't copy my file properly anyways so rather than deal with fighting a dying OS I just upgraded my gaming drives to Win 10.

My programming drive however hasn't used an internet connection in ages and remains Windows 7 (even with my login screen at 1080p on 4K ) and I refuse to upgrade it so I can continue to make programs that work for Windows 7 as well as the new versions.

Once I can afford to upgrade my motherboard I intend to keep the old one and the programming drive in a second rig and start another programming drive for my main rig since I won't be able to use Windows 7 on a newer chipset--the main reason I never upgraded it before.

I'm in need of a favor from a reputable member of this community.

I got a key from the above giveaway, but I don't know which of the 3 possible games the key is for. The possibilities are:
I want to use it to start a giveaway, but need to know which game it's for before doing so, or I risk negative feedback for selecting the wrong title.

Steam support won't identify games by key anymore due to a recent policy change of theirs.

Are there any of you out there that already own all 3 of these games, and could therefore check which game the key is for without redeeming it?
