If vpn is used, gleam would show something like "too many attempts from this address." It would still display tasks.
this is an account ban and the discord announcement confirms it.

surely there was real abuse like linking and unlinking a single steam / twitch / whatever to reuse for multiple gleams. ban makes sense.
but just for vpn? while gleam is blocked, you can still watch and redeem the channel points without restriction.

that's whats strange. why do you block gleam but the user still has to watch twitch hours to earn enough to redeem the access, so it's still being paid for. A vpn ban is going to take out a lot of legit users.

like it always goes with this drama, grab popcorn and see the fallout the next weekend.

Some Gleam GAs limit the number of entries from one IP. However Gleam can also temporarily ban IPs and give the too many entries message, and not display the tasks.

More likely multiple accounts. While what you're describing would also result in a Gleam ban, that isn't the only reason.

If you use a VPN, and so do a lot of other people, it looks like too many entries from a single IP, and that IP will be temporarily banned. Being able to redeem a Twitch reward with points has absolutely nothing to do with Gleam.

HS can not ban users from Gleam. Gleam does that when it sees too many entries from a single IP, like when people use VPNs.

Again, this a you problem. The problem is you used a VPN. So you got banned from Gleam. To see whether it's a permanent or temporary ban, change IP. There's no drama or popcorn involved at all. Just don't use a VPN. Pretty simple. Drama resolved.

Or ignore everything I just said and munch on that popcorn, which is probably delicious.

I have never had this happen but I'll take your word for it. When gleam doesn't like an IP it will prevent task completion.

Yes, but, the point trying to be made here is vpn or not, the user must watch twitch, generating ad revenue which pays the creator a profit for the redeem just like everyone else. Banning only for the presence of a vpn doesn't make sense alone. Twitch permits viewing with a VPN, and this creator allows you to still redeem items from his shop on VPN-earned ad revenue.

Checked a gleam from a web blog, and another from a different streamer - fine. No Ip change needed. Not banned from gleam. Banned from the specific creator's account.

Yes, a lot of people don't like it for some reason. Not just here. I've noticed it on other sites too. Although if you have been targeted for something you didn't do, I can see how that would annoy people.

In my case, I haven't had any problems with HS. I don't do much though. Mostly idle for points, and claim games. Enter the occasional Gleam GA, and very occasionally play the showdown game.

They introduced betting for a few hours the other day, and that would have been a great way to get points, but people didn't like it for some reason, and it was closed down.

I think the problem HS has with alts is that they deplete the keys too quickly. It's like a carnie show. They want to see the cool prizes shown, so people will play. They don't want to give the expensive prizes away too often. Supposedly people were "abusing" the 5k subscription bonus too. So that's gone, and the trivia too. Back to idling I guess?
