Maybe my 'usual' review will do.Continue, maybe your usual review will do. All i remember is fantastic cinematic trailer and a longplay of some of the first missions that i watched.

Well first off let me say my 'usual' reviews are for people like me with the patience of a racing mule, who get bored after 4 minutes of text and visuals, like reading your economy post...I get it but my brain drowns about halfway through, I just still understood the concept in what little i read.
And I mean no offense either, I find the outside view of things without the russian newscast enlightening. I still couldn't could care less of about the state of russias political status, idrc about the state of americas usually...but the different views of it are interesting when people ain't trying to kill each other over them lol.
That aside, here we go...
HITMAN ABSOLUTION (GOG / PS3 PSN FREEBIE)
Installer Size: 12.2 GB (13.2 actual on disk)
Game Folder: 16.5 GB (17.8)
31 GB Minimal required for installation.
I got this game as I said for PS3 as a PSN freebie, I'd never touched the series before, although i have been backward to play the older games (don't lol), Square-enix turning it episodic and online mission based after this game killed the series on me entirely so this was the height of the franchise for most offline players since all servers die and then you have no good side objectives which practically make the game fun and gives it its replay value.
So in Absolution your Agent 47, bald, badass, and beautifully deadly, you start the game in an ice cream truck, a homoge to the stupidity of some disguises you'll wear throughout the game that are completely ridiculous i suppose...since I doubt rolling up to an armored gate in the middle of the woods would really work out without the truck getting shredded like swiss cheese. But in this land of professional assassination, the guard feels he needs to get rid lf the ice cream truck peaceful like and walks up to send you away--which ends with him getting iced.
The game after that, like it or not, is trial and error based entirely.and the same plan could go two different ways depending where a guard is stationed at the moment unless your extremely precise in repeating the exact movements done previously, which in some situations you actually need to. I think around mission 12 or 14 IIRC things start getting majorly insane when you have 3 psycho sisters as targets and entire swat teams surrounding them on a two level open apartment stairway setting...I also think that was as far as I ever got honestly since I was completion hunting by that point and refused to drop the difficulty to pass it before my PS3 died
You have a radar but it's almost useless, particilarly in the first mission which is supposedly training, since most guards will only change direction and end up on top of you when your closer than the radar will be able to warn you about...i honestly think your supposed to get caught 50 times and reset your checkpoint or just quit because the game isnt for you...it gets better after that until the later missions a bit, but the first mission is brutal and has at least 10 side objectives on top (nice training lol)
You have wire as your main weapon to silently choke people out and automatically drag them away and hide the bodies...since the bodies actually remain and alert other guards and the main aspect of this game is truly stealth and getting caught usually means getting killed, you will not win in a shootout even with a twelve gauge shotgun and a giant ninja sword in a small hallway, your character just isnt designed for battle, your not supposed to get caught. You also have single and dual silenced pistols as your standard main kill weapon (and the best weapon) but those also leave a body to get discovered unless you clean house or go one by one.
One of the familiar and annoying side objectives in every single level is to win without using a disguise at all...just in your suit...so let me explain disguises a bit and why that's so important. For every disguise you can find, there are other characters wearing the same clothes (in the same profession) and since they would know the other people in their trade, company, whatever...if you get close to them wearing that disguise they'll notice, although you can walk by anyone else completely unhindered unless you have a weapon drawn or attract some other kind of obvious attention (like throwing a guard off a three story roof lol), which may seem easy but they always place those people right where the disguise would be useful and sometimes you find yourself offing another electrician silently because hes inconvenient heh. As you can imagine nobody else is wearing a black tuxedo that says signature hitman so as soon as you hit off limit territory you have to be total stealth or fast enough to silence anyone who sees you.
You can hide bodies in dumpsters (as well as hide in them yourself), but only two bodies before the dumpsters get full, so one body and you, or two bodies (you figure someone would come empty these things? lmao), so sometimes you need to drag a body further to accommodate a hiding spot nearby and it can get all kinds of complex...although i'm sure a guide would lessen the thought process it would also ruin the fun. There are other places to hide bodies such as lockers, thrown over walls where guards cant roam because you know, they're not programmed too lol...shit like that, where a locker can only hide you or a body, true to its size.
You can distract enemies like any espionage game by throwing objects like bricks, wrenches, bottles, etc. as well as cause accidental deaths, some of which will still set off an alert depending how catastrophic and others that will be taken as an actual accident and you can just stroll away.
You are a hitman, in every sense of the word...you kill in silence, hide, wear disguises, fake your identity, and get killed if you get caught, you always have a main target and they are usually important so they have corrupt cops, guards, workers, even dogs that will sniff you out and rat you out if you don't kill them first.
This is your mission, should you choose to accept it Agent 47. Kill them all, or die trying.
Side note, theres a movie based on this game like many others. .but its not the best (like many others)
The graphics are PS3 era and even on ultra max won't light a decent GPU on fire, although they're still pretty good and wont leave you with pixelated pupils or anything, controller worked through steam for the GOG version by default, and the story you create through deaths is intriguing.
You also get to hit your shack I suppose and choose which weapons to bring by default into areas if I remember right, which you unlock more options for by doing side objectives...like the katana lol.
ADHD Approved years back ..I'm having trouble getting myself back into it again now but it truly is a great game.
I tried to give you a more in-depth review since you asked in such a nice way lol. hope it was enough to spark your interest
