What's wrong with Visual Studio Code, which you can download as the default Ren'Py editor? It's elegant and adds tabs automatically
I told you I didnt' install ren'py...i've literally been reading unren'd code in reverse to learn since I started by wanted to unlock a gallery that was pissing me off...then I got some really good ideas even for the kiddie script and decided to figure out how to make them possible 🤷‍♂️

Plus its Visual Studio Code...so its Microsoft, on top of me generally not liking it for some reason. Maybe because of years using actual Visual Studio.

Does it have intellisense and syntax highlighting or coloring for Ren'py as add-ons now that i'm thinking about it? Been curious.

It has. I'm using a black background and it looks tidy. But you don't need to use that particular editor - it's just a default suggestion by Ren'Py. I remember that before it was Editra and I'm using Notepad++ for most things. You can add almost any editor in settings.

Interesting, i'll have to check it out...you can imagine how it went with me guessing python correct keywords, css type styles, and functionality...especially since I've never really used python either for more than helping guts learn some basics and I hate html on top

I didn't know Notepad++ still existed, I can't remember if thats the one I used to make NintendoDS games in or it was a secondary for me when I was doing it but i definitely used that before. Honestly I don't remember what language or script the code was even usrd at this point, I remember it was C 'style' in some aspects but thats all.

It was the customizable multi-compiler plugins in the DS maker program, not the syntax editor that made it unique.

Even 7-Zip lets you pick an external editor lmao...if it didnt it would be another blowjob moment as far as coding and I likely would have changed it myself outside of the program.

EDIT:

What really irked me while doing the mods was that certain major aspects were changed from renpy 7, a later variant of it, and then renpy 8 as well.

So there are basically 3 versions of it running rampant right now in that aspect and not knowing the code in the first place...that sucked since most mods are game specific and obviously most game code itself.

The one that really got me was

Python:
f"this{fuckin}variable"
had to modify it in earlier versions of renpy 7 to
Python:
("this" + fuckin + "variable")

Good news is that giveaway section started working, i managed to enter ga on second page, no "this ga is not available" message. But library still do not.
You can enter them you just can't check all your dupe keys before auto feedback...that doesnt really help much.

At least gala has their priorities straight (like retro), gotta give the leeches games before they leave and never return lmao.

Two updates and a complaint about an update
  • I got my Chai Stones.
  • I was able to complete all three AWA quests at once with almost no lag or delay...it must be doomsday--as was foretold.
  • Metaphor: ReFanzio Prologue Demo keeps updating (probably to advertise release instead of security) and Steam REALLY needs to determine which games should be patched and which should contain larger updates like before. 26 f'in MB and I been sitting here longer than the steam quests for it to patch (because they were running and my drives getting full heh) but for the love of god it still says 35 minutes for 26 mofo MB.
I wanna get back to my Ren'Porn and its on another drive :ROFLMAO:
