You watch more than me, I never heard the term before
Now you know. :) The step trope is still alive and well. Even last season had one. Single parents getting married. Not telling their kids or meeting. The kids unexpectedly meeting beforehand, some misunderstanding happening, and something ensues. Not always romance, but something.

I guess Japanese guys only hope of interacting with females is a parent dying, remarrying, and their new spouse having an age and gender appropriate potential partner as a kid.

Speaking of misunderstandings, one thing that hasn't changed in anime is the amount of plot points created by some kind of misunderstanding that could easily by solved by a simple conversation. Instead, the entire plot arc spans multiple episodes, or the entire series, and everyone in Japan thinks this is normal.

Stupid people doing stupid things IS normal...I can actually see that shit IRL by people who use their head as a trash bucket for only the things they care to deal with.

It just doesnt make any sense why your landlord lives with you and does your dishes and laundry at 25 :ROFLMAO:
This is actually in anime too. Usually they inherit some aging multi-room, or multi-dwelling thing, that they're the caretaker of. Breakfast is sometimes included in these kinds of arrangements. Either that, or the guy is hired to be an all female dorm caretaker, or females squat/were allowed to rent a property he inherits.

Thats a bed and breakfast, even have some here though they're rare and not as relaxed as you see in the anime, but thats not the type of deal i'm talking...they literally live in a normal house, its meant to be your mom and sister...they just change it for legal purposes

I remember seeing popular porn search terms for various places, and step is often there. There were a handful of anime where mostly the younger sister was obsessed with her older brother. Haven't seen that without the step part recently.
Most VNs that include it leave the relationships optional, but its so common now here you know what its meant to be...hence what we were saying.

That reminds me of Dragon Age II. Everyone is hating on the wokefest that is Veilguard, but in II, your sibling was always of the opposite gender, and both were more interesting, and attractive than the other boring romance options. Also, you had to be human as the MC. All the problems could have been solved if you were adopted, choose your race, and romance your (step) sibling.

One of the most successful Western AVN devs is creating a plot and suspense with his characters always being interrupted in the middle of a sentence so... I'd say Japanese authors are doing it better. 🤷‍♂️

Thats generally how it works :ROFLMAO:

I never wanted my sister, but they make the sister more smoking than any other love interest so you DO want your sister lmfao.

I hate it because it's terrible writing. But I gave up on Dragon Age with Inquisition
Same. Origins was great. II was too arcadey, and they make a big deal about getting enough money to go to the deep roads expedition before it leaves. So I save all my money, go to the expedition, and they force me to do a bunch of pointless side content before I can continue the main story. Also, warriors can't use bows.

The same with Inquisition, forcing you to do pointless side content to continue the story. It's great that side content exists, but forcing you to do it, instead of making you want to do it, like with rewards, or making it interesting, is the better option.

also
despite i like your choice of colours, i think that on a little screen can became weird
Well i've changed it to be 3D text at this point and it will eventually have a picture for a background, the blue was basically just temporary.

The small screens may get different colors because I agree...but that depends on what I do to enlarge them for touch screen.

Its meant to be dark though...it is a horror game

If you're into RPGs, Dragon Age: Origin is a must-play.
I have DA:O, i even started playing it, but was never close to finish it.
It was back in 2012, than my GPU broke and i was out of gaming for more than 10 years....i still have to play and finish it.
I have the 3rd, it was free on Epic a couple of months ago...never played it.
