Speaking of Pi_rats I just ganked the entire history of dbz and it took me almost a day to find something that would convert it back to bd, now it says its gonna take hours to do it.

The internet and all this digital living has really brought it to shit, even the pirates want you to pay these days

Second, why the fuck can nothing even with a free trial convert it back.

And just fuck burnaware entirely, it burned unaware and wasted two of my disks thing doesn't work period.

Video files are easier to use. Storing them as video files makes accessing them easier. Who wants to try and find the right physical disc, and then have the noise and delay of trying to access it?

BD is more locked down than DVD, which wasn't locked down at all, and while it's not exactly perfect, they keep changing it, and it's barely worth trying to keep up with since no one cares about BD.

Well burnaware backed it up...as MKV, instead of BD like it claimed it was doing--which is basically the same format minus the extra folders...hence my rant lol.

Unless you want to play it as a physical disk, like say on my PS3

For the record, I was complaining because they could ALL do it (except burnaware), they just gave you a time limit or a stupid marking on them.

I own a dedicated BD player, and it even plays all region BDs and DVDs. You have to manually set the BD region, but mine lets you do it as often as you like. I also have a BD player in my current PC. It's a slim one. The case has a spot for it, so I put one in there. I never use them.

Can't PS3 play video files? No idea why you'd want to use a PS3 for that, but I'm pretty sure it can. Looked it up, apparently you do it via USB. So you can be almost as hipster as using BD.

And actually, as someone who ripped DVDs all the time from say redbox before it died, they had plenty of protection.

DVDFab works for everything, but I only own the DVDCopy program myself...now its attached to accounts instead of a license key and has zero option to input one...so no more using that free.

My PC is my main form of entertainment, but i'm usually doing things like gaming or coding...just watching video that won't gain anything from my GPU I usually prefer the TV and stereo.

I did the same thing. Not Redbox, but there were similar postage rental things, and I'd use DVDDecrypter to make ISO files, then play them back on PC. I didn't always have enough time to watch them, so this way I could get as many movies in my free trial as possible without the need to spend the entire weekend bingewatching.

when you code and have as many disks and USB sticks with tons of that on it...having clearly labeled bd-r in a separate book (or books) is a much better concept for video.

I have a 1TB laptop drive, and a cheap Chinese SATA to USB adapter, both of which I got free, and use it as temporary storage for various things. Mostly games, but also app data for backups if I ever need to reinstall Windows, which I haven't done in a very long time.

I have tons of thst kind of crap...one thing I learned though is laptop drives usually die when copying major amounts of data externally, I had about 7 dead ones from adapter like that and just stopped doing it.
