I was expanding my horizons, trying new things, meeting new people, and finding out what I did and did not like. I didn't let preconceptions of what I imagined I would or would not like influence me. Having now found out, I know what I like, and don't bother with anything else.

A perfectly valid stance. I did enjoy some things that I didn't expect. Not that that meant I wanted to do them all again. Overall, I was mostly right about what I did and did not like. It's easy to forget because there are so many, I've once had an instance where I realized my codes were expired and I should have given them away rather than let them never be used and even if they were activated and not used it wouldn't be a problem as long they didn't expire because people always tend to go back to their games at some point.
They gave away Fallout 76, which isn't something you can just pirate, and no one else was giving it away. It was pretty universally hated, but if you're a fan of the series, and wanted to check it out, that was a way to do it. If they were strategic about it like that, they might attract new people.

Yeah, it ain't bad, I think if I was a new user with no video games or few games and I would get a chance to grab it for free I would play it so potentially a new user join their platform. Honestly, I'm impressed there are 12k users daily on Steam which makes me think there are way more on their platform and I don't know if the game has crossplay.
Yeah unless they have tons of games and they find a good deal for a second-hand console, I was checking a few days ago prices for the PS4, handhelds,older Xbox consoles.
