We are an empire, we have a "rules-based order", and we make those rules on the fly. Might makes right:

Genocide isn't legal but we are doing it in Gaza, even plotting illegal population transfers of Palestinians that survive the American bombs and Israeli blockade. Iraq was destroyed on false pretenses. Obama totally wrecked Libya. Our sanctions lead Afghans to sell their kids to perverts to survive. Trump just finished giving Syria to al-Qaeda, removed sanctions, and asked them to recognize Israel. He has almost drove Iran to a nuclear bomb. This is a problem that Trump and Biden created by not adhering to the Iran deal. We might be going to war with Iran. No one will stop us. We've killed and indirectly killed over a million people since 9/11 and displaced millions: Costs | Costs of War

Our President and former Presidents are war criminals and they aren't going to be punished by the law. They won't be because the country that tries will be destroyed. Under NATO rules the Europeans are supposed to fund their militaries at 2% of their GDP, but they don't because they have Uncle Sucker that defends them from the scary Russians. He is happy to do it for as long as he can! Just because the US Congress makes something a law like the 2001 AUMF, doesn't mean it is a good idea, and should be done. Take away the UN veto and see what happens...

Like I said, not defending the present situatuon, just stating the fact that they are stuck balancing the past...they're obviously not doing a good job of it...but the fact is without America's prior peace treaties and agreements...the world would have tore itself apart.

I said we did it right in the past...nothing more...and without that in place, all hell would break loose.

I'm done myself, I've got my own politics to deal with in court.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Germans in WWII and to a much lesser extent, the Japanese. Japan got off much lighter since America wanted them as a puppet state, and they used the emperor to get confessions.

No Imperial soldier wanted to blame the emperor, so the Japanese took individual responsibility. Many of them were released early and became top politicians. Compare that to the Germans, where they all got hung, or died awaiting trial.

In more recent times, you had Slobodan, and a handful of Africans getting UN'd. No one of any consequence.

In whole or in part? That's a pretty broad definition. By that definition, everything is genocide, and if everything is, nothing is.

I'm really sick of caring...i just saw the local court erase parts of my case I filed (which are used by the Appeal court), its all rotten down to the street bangers and the nice neighbor next door...all I want is a comfortable place to sleep, and I'll kill the whole lot of them to get it if I'm forced to.

When your in that kind of sinking ship...none of this shit matters.

Basic concept...it starts by stabbing each other in the back on the bottom of the ladder and bickering between ourselves and just reflects all the way up to the top. We are our own worst enemy as we sit here passing blame. This country that country, this stupidity that stupidity...when we realize every action we make has a reaction and a ripple effect we might realize the problem starts right here with us. Until then we're fucked.

It ain't pretty and poetic, but it makes the point.
