Sure, but worth going to war over? I have seen some claim it was intentional. It did get them out of some trade deals with the US they had signed that were not exactly in their favor.

I wouldn't say it's impossible for them. It could just as easily be explained by incompetence, and the chain of command covering it all up trying not to get blamed and punished.

Speaking of worth going to war over, the Houthis. They attack shipping, and the whole world does nothing. Trump shoots a few missiles at them and they beg for mercy, agreeing not to attack any more ships. Wasn't that hard. Surely we can stop a few Houthis interrupting international shipping, and let that be a lesson to any future Houthis, or Blowfishes, that might be thinking of doing the same.
