I see all those people talking about how powerful AI is and showing generated videos. I tried something as basic as creating a list of 40 games and asking a bunch of them to order them by price, but the prices were always wrong, and I asked it to use GG.Deals/Isthereanydeal values.

Remember long time ago, I mentioned Hitman Sniper Challenge as a hidden Hitman game/demo for Hitman Absolution? If you are buying the game key for the base game from IG, you get that too, I assume you get it when buying from Steam, too.

Maybe you weren't specific enough? AI usually sucks or takes serious training on any model or task it needs to do...personally I got no faith in AI accomplishing anything more what we could have programmed something to do normally, except worse.

Maybe? I think perhaps it was too complex for it, tbh I didn't expect much, but if it were able to create accurate lists like that, it would help a lot with the hassle of ordering and updating prices and possibly even to find historical low deals more easily than scrolling to GG.Deals or any deals platform

I feel ya, checking each games price even in my own ga lists just to make sure i'm not giving $20 trade keys to bots is a pain in the arse...i've considered a few times trying to do something like that for simplicity, usually the biggest problem is finding the game page honestly...but the search engines seem to get that right even when I cant remember or spell a name, so AI shouldnt have an issue there like normal programming does.

I'm sure theres a direct method like incorporating Steam API or maybe even gg.deals has a direct approach for programs...but thats too much hassle for the simple project I intended compared to something like a full on trading project.

Oh, that's just in general for cheaper games I try to look for, but judging by how long it does it takes, I may do it myself. I'm also surprised GG.Deals doesn't have a feature to create lists, but you can set notifications for certain games when they go on sale/bundle. It's pretty good if there is something you really want to buy at a fair price.

I was able to make a small project on desktop for pulling my fanaticsl orders a long time back when I was doing large GAs but it had a few errors and it was made for me specifically so it required being used a certain way (it was an exe)...I never bothered to continue working on it, but I still use it on rare occasions when I buy multiple of the same bundles to give away or charity bundles or something in one long order to organize them into files by game name 🤷‍♂️ I assume doing price ripping from the HTML would work about the same way...but again it came down to actially having the right URL for the game.

I think you can ask the AI for the game URL, but if it's about the GG deals URL, you'll have problems, but if you want just the Steam ones, it seems to work properly.

I assume the AI copies the search link, not the game link for GG.Deals, that's why we get errors when copying them back.

I wasn't using AI at all, I was actually using an old VB6 project I coded long ago as the base  plain manual string splitting and just feeding it the downloaded fanatical order page.

If i was attempting gg.deals pages I would have opened the search URL myself to get the page, but it was unreliable.

Probably using the socket class in C++ or C#, i'm from the programming days when we did all this manually...before C# was even useful honestly. Soup didnt exist etc etc.

LLM AI doesn't think, use logic, or have any intelligence at all. It guesses based on what other things it has seen.

The perfect example is math. Math should be the easiest thing in the world for AI. You have numbers, variables, and the order of operations. There is only one answer, and it should be very simple to arrive at. Instead, it looks at similar math problems. Sees the answers to those problems. Then gives you an answer that is similar.

"What is simple for humans is difficult for AI and vice versa." -Moravec's paradox

Example, simple math, or creating an animation of Will Smith eating spaghetti.
