Ever since I tried Blasphemous , I got hooked on these Indie titles , later came Hades .... Before Blasphemous I never played anything remotely similar .
Try Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's much better then Blasphemous.

I love the aesthetics of it, it reminds me also a series of books about the inquisitor Mordimer Madderdin written by a polish author Jacek Piekara (The Inquisitor Cycle), which are taking place in a world in which Jesus Christ didn't die for our sins, but came down from the cross, killed all his oppressors, and became a ruthless warlord that conquered the Roman Empire by force and since then, the world has been ruled by the Inquisitors...
I think Blasphemous is something like hard games, that you need to master? So better try Dark Devotion, it is more close.
